I'm a fan of Cruise, but I agree: there's is no comparison between the two.

The movie was great. My pat answer to my wife for all my transgressions is now...."that was before I died".

....kinda funny. Tom Hanks turned down the role of Jerry Maguire for which Tom Cuise was nominated for an Acadamey Award.

Do you pay to see a movie for them acting or because you like their political beliefs, music, choice of clothes, etc?


I'll be seeing to this movie looks like it could be a oscar winner for some area.
Another futuristic science fiction for cruise it was oblivion last year. It does look singular or unique.

This film is getting a lot of positive reviews on Letterboxd.com!

The majority of the reviews are trending 3.5-5 stars!

Not bad, but the end sucked. I mean like the last 60 seconds of the movie. Good movie up till that.

I liked the book's story better, but I like Emily Blunt. So ideally, I'd just like to see the actual book story in movie form with Emily Blunt.

Cruise can be a weirdo in reality, but he gets picked for the movie types I like. As others have mentioned.....Oblivion, Vanilla Sky, Magnolia, Minority Report....some good sci-fi movies. But probably my favorite role of his was Les Grossman in Tropic Thunder. Nobody could have played that better.

Saw it today: 8/10. Great summer movie that is entirely unpredictable in my opinion. Finally something fresh in the futuristic, apocalypse theme.

Wait your telling me Hollywood has used a it's been used not original or not new genre but made it creative and original! :)


This is why we go to movies in one of the tv spots for how phenomenal it is.
I think every year there is that one topnotch movie that gets mostly great reviews and both critics and non critics agree it's topnotch. It appears this could be it, doesn't mean you can't have more than one movie.
And I'm talking about American movies as in made in the United States of America.

Oh let me add a few good men possibly one of the greatest court dramasin movie history with iconic lines I want the truth, you can't handle the truth, we were suppose to fight for people that cent fight for themselves we were suppose to fight for willie, etc.

Tom cruise does speak his mind I guess in the PC time this is a vice, of course I'm not denying you can go over the edge if you are being but not limited to snide, antagonistic, insulting, a know it all or think they know it all, etc.

I saw the movie today and it was a topnotch movie.
It seem like war of the worlds meets starship troopers combined with the small bit of groundhogs day with the whole the day keeps getting relieved or starting over.
