Crushing hit gets Auburn DB booted

I kinda agree with bamawriter (ikr lol). The dude shouldn't be doing it to a teammate in a spring game. I wouldn't have kicked him off the team though.

Ejected from a spring game lmao. Butch Jones is letting Duck Dynasty call plays and a couple hundred miles down the road ole Gus is having a cage match with teammates

I don't think he was booted off the team. Pretty sure he was just booted out of the spring game.

It wasn't helmet to helmet.

And it was the WR fault toofor putting himself in that situation.

It was a DB going 100% and a WR not paying attention.

If it was the exact same hit, but the WR was paying attention. It would just be a normal play.

Why was the DB punished bc the WR wasn't paying attention and basically didn't look into the backfield at any point in his route?

Was the receiver wearing a non-contact jersey? No. Was the hit legal? Yes.

/thread

His point was if they are in pads and a helmet, they are free game. Are the QB's not in pads and a helmet?

Read the thread and understand what we are talking about before commenting

I had read the thread and very much understood what you were talking about, thankyouverymuch. :salute:

You're talking about it in the context of it being a spring game - going against your own teammates. Was the hit hard? Sure, but it wasn't malicious. No need for an ejection. The defender did his job in that he separated the receiver from the ball without going above the shoulders.

Just imagine how much flak he would have received if he has just wrapped him up like he was playing two-hand-touch. You can't have it both ways. Either play or don't.

Are u an idiot? How is that the receivers fault? It wasn't a route it was a step back.

The issue was the taunting for a number of reasons.

The taunting was the issue for me.
