Is there a general rule on this? Like how long are you supposed to give it when your family members leave food in the fridge? There's a half a burger in there my son brought in 3 days ago, and I think it's time. I hate to see food go bad, and if you have seen me you know I seldom allow that to happen.

If they bring it home, and leave again without eating it, it's fair game!

As a teen I would agree, but he's 11 still and I feel a little guilty when he forgets about it but always remembers right after I eat it. He gets that cute, but hurt look on his face like when I ate his special pricey candy bar after he left it in there for 10 minutes.

Mine usually eat it soon after they bring it home. There has been a couple of times I ate something before they had a chance 🤣

My left over food I leave in there or save gets eaten all the time. No one feels bad when dad's treats get gone. This especially sucks when I am being good and on a very limited diet and that "treat" was like the one damn pleasure I could have on keto. (not bitter at all)

It hits the storage container it's fair game unless specifically called.
