Don't know about TS music, I've never listened. What he says about the current state of the music biz, imo, is dead on correct.I don't disagree with him. At all.
TED NUGENT Says TAYLOR SWIFT's Songs Sound Like 'Cartoon Music': 'It's Not Organic And Genuine And Believable'

We watched a few seasons of American Idol, and what we watched was pretty damned entertaining. The season after Adam Lambert won, we noticed the music choices changing. It changed so much, that we refused to watch it any longer.
Every song selection sounded exactly like the one before and, as Ted alluded to - the current state of music, was void of any originality, lacked energy, and just plain ole cookie cutter chit. I told HBPW that this is nothing short of slit your wrist crap.
I absolutely detest all new "artist" and their music post 1986. Lol. They are a few exceptions.
Now ask yourselves, what single music industry event played the biggest part in killing the music?
My answer is this: When the radio stations were bought up and syndicated/conglomerized(®).
Even the radio station I listen to (Classic Rock 103.5) sucks. I want to here a variety of classic rock, not just the top 40 from years past. Not just the white stuff, that is currently overplayed. I wanna station that is going to mix in the MJ, Lou Rawls, Barry White, GFOS, Dianna Ross, and Dionne Waricks of days gone by. Like they used to back in the 70s when they too were top 40.
The only band of color they play on 103.5 is In Living Color (Cult of Personality) and I LOVE that song!

I remember being up all night listening to the radio. The DJs were as entertaining as the music and, most importantly, L I V E! I loved listing to everything back then - Country, Rock, Soul, sprinkled with a bit of gospel.Yes, radio giants like Cumulus suck. Using algorithms to choose what to play when rather than the DJs playing what they want.

The problem is you are listening to radio stations. There's plenty of good contemporary music but you have to find it Mal. Don't be lazy!I do, some. Usually, if I am, it's being shoved in my ear by my sons or HBPW. Sometimes I'm pleasantly surprised. Most times I'm looking for a different radio station.
