No detergent touches my fav cast iron, only water and salt usually if stuff gets stuck...other wise not even that. To be honest I am a bit miffed this new chinese french wanna be is supposedly preseasoned, but I do not trust it. And my oven right now has issues getting hot enough to season. Need to replace lower element. She bought it.....I remain suspicous ....made in China.....imitating French..... no good can come of it.

Got something I've never done, and gonna try. I've been getting grill mate seasoning that makes a marinade for chicken. Grabbed some more at Ingles, and saw one for Brazilian steak. Went back to the meat department, and a friend of mine works there. I asked him what I should get to use, and he said London broil. Never done it, but I'm going to try soon.

HBPW gets London Broil precooked and slices it up for sammiches. Really good!

My wife did. I usually have always used our old Lodge. However if "Chinese Cast Iron" is about what most Americans can afford due to people easily swayed by a propogandized media continually voting for politicians destroying the American manufactuering sector, all in the name of this weeks catch phrase, then I guess Chinese Cast Iron is what we'll buy. Maybe people should stop voting for national suicide. It's not my wallet's job to make up for 30 years of people voting to screw over our economy because some SNL guy was funny, or because their gullable and thought they could vote for free stuff.
