Cereal Question, and I hope somebody has experience with this.

Mom's doctor is pretty insistent she drink Ensure protein drinks. I had ordered her some from Sam's (the strawberry ones she likes; 24 for like 34 dollars), but they were only 9g. She had to drink two a day.

So today, I found some of the 16g ones, but they were like more than 2 dollars each in a pack of six.

I'm not sure why the doctor is insistent it is Ensure. I mean, the Carnation Instant Breakfast drinks are much less expensive and the protein in there is on par with the Ensure.

What am I missing here? Mom said she doesn't really care about the flavor if the cost difference is that much less, and I agree with that.

My guess is because it's been around so long and it's known to be a solid choice for the nutrients and carbs that are needed for recovery. And if it's good for recovery it's gotta be good. Probably a safe recommendation. There are so many different ones out there and some have more added sugar and less other stuff that's important, so it's just easier to recommend one they know has the right amount of everything he thinks she needs.

This is only my guess, I really don't know.

I don't know the difference, but that's what they're giving Tiffany, especially for days she didn't eat, ensure.
