It's a school in Nashville, has a lot of kids we are recruiting, mainly Jalen Lindsey. Their coach Drew Maddux supposedly really likes Martin and Tennessee, so let's hope we can build a pipeline to that school.

Anyways...Cuonzo Martin and assistant Jon Harris were in the CPA gym at 6am for open workout.

“Great seeing UT coaches Cuonzo Martin and Jon Harris this morning at CPA in Nashville,TN for 6:00 open gym.” -Drew Maddux

I hope he is being genuine. Him being a Vandy guy just makes me feel like he may push his kids that way.

I would hate stallings too. He very well may be a bigger douche than Franklin. I wouldn't expect much tho he is a vandy dude.

Jalen Lindsay will be a hell of a player, and there will be tons of competition for the kid. I'm sure every SEC, ACC and BE team in the region will make a push for him.

What's your reason for not being at the 6:00 am practice slacker!?:p

The school is tiny and barely produces D1 talent (for any sport). Lindsey is the exception and of course I want Martin to get him. But building a pipeline to this school should not be a priority for any decent basketball or football school.

There's 3 or 4 kids from CPA who are receiving high major interest.

It may be tiny compared to some huge public schools, but it is a good private school that produces decent talent. Ever hear of Ensworth? They're private and produce top talent almost every year. That is where Tiny played until he transferred his senior year.

It's always good to keep your options open. Martin should go wherever there is talent. Lindsay is a talent so Martin will be at CPA.

Maddux being there does worry me. He's a huge Vandy guy. Always has been.

You are probably right, but I know the current basketball team has several probable D1 talent there and not too many years back Zaccheus Mason was a coveted football prospect who went to Ole Miss then transferred to UTC to play hoops now. Even if only 2 from the current team get D1 scholarships, that would be at least 3 D1 players in the last 5 years or so. That's more than many public schools will produce (with the obvious exception of the power schools). Cuonzo may not just be getting a pipeline to CPA, but more importantly just having a presence in Nashville and the Middle Tennessee area.

It's all about building relationships and networking. Just like any job if you want to stay viable. If a kid has talent, good coaches will be after him.

Yes, I went to college with the strength coach at Ensworth. I never said private schools were not good pipelines and comparing CPA to Ensworth is a joke. I agree, if talent is at CPA, then let Martin go to work. But considering CPA a future pipeline for the Vols, with a current Vandy alum as their coach and small student body in a tiny league, is simply a stretch. Just my opinion clearly.

They weren't alone. Pretty sure about 30 other college coaches were there. CPA has some nice talent.
