Cuonzo just made his bed and is betting

Hart has established credibility with Serano and Butch. He showed, whether be by luck or not, that he could hire a non football coach and that pick be good. Plus, every ad wants their guy for every major sport at the school. Hart may not have bball as a priority but he is t gonna just step aside and watch revenue dip and black curtains take over

Hart didn't hire Serrano, did he?

Where is this development? Stats don't win games the last time I checked. Those are all good players, but they haven't taken the next step and that's on coach. What do you expect for the rest of the players next year that are inexperienced?

Lmao ok

That's why I didn't wanna discuss with you, you have a clear agenda. If you can't admit that McRae and Stokes havent developed under Martin then you only make that agenda all the more obvious.

That's just not true.

Seems like the question you are really asking is this...Is Hart willing to pay 2+ million dollars to a proven coach like Pearl, Howland, Smart or Marshall for instance...because that's what it would take.

You talk about his resume, I see guys on here talking about M. White and Petino Jr...what makes their resume better? Why would they take less than Martin is getting? They wouldn't.

We got Martin because of our circumstance. Any coach with other similar options was going to avoid this place. Too many clouds lingering. We got Martin who didn't deserve the job. That's how you have a coach making such small salary at one of the better SEC jobs.

Martin had 3 years HC experience and no tournament appearances.

I can't speak for why people want certain coaches.

Uhm Butch jones went 5-7 and lost to Vandy

He hasn't proven jack

I'm pretty sure a sold out Neyland will disagree with you on that . Butch has shown he can win off the field and rally the fan base. And I'm pretty sure Martin has never had the enthuisiasm as butch did coming from a small school. Cant compare a football season where you get a few chances to a basketball season where you get multiple chances to perform.

I did admit they haven't taken that next step in their development. Just like Martin hasn't in coaching.

Buzz Williams and Gregg Marshall wanted the job

Please tell us all about the Berry's since your connection is so good lol

I don't have a connection with the Berrys, so your attempt at deflection is as weak as your basketball knowledge.

I'll repeat. You haven't had one conversation with anyone so stop acting like you have. You are lying your ass off again and its a joke. You aren't media. You don't have a website. And you don't speak with boosters. They would have no reason to speak to you, unless you need them to sign a delivery.

Which game was Neyland sold our last year?

IMO no

You lose some talented pieces for sure, but I think you'll have a better team that won't take 2 months to buy in

Wow. That's been the problem this year, the team not buying in after being in Cuonzo's system for three years? Seems like quite a stretch.

Regardless, I'm out. :peace:

I didn't think Marshall was interviewed this time. Seems like we passed on him the two times prior.

I've never heard that about Williams anywhere except this board this year. Sounds like BS to me. That or his agent floated his name for a raise.

Marshall was either interviewed or asked to be. Williams openly himself lobbied for the job, look it up

Ok

Well college coaches strongly disagree

So they're saying we have two great players on our roster that are capable of taking over? Or are these college coaches you speak of the ones that aren't in the tournament that we beat them down with one closed?

I am very aware of why we had NO CHOICE but to hire a coach with three years of experience as a head coach and no tourney experience.

I also know that we have paid that coach bottom dollar and gotten a 60% winning percentage and 1 dance, 2 NIT appearances.

I don't see that the situation we are in is any better if we fire a guy averaging 20 wins per season in favor of another guy with three years of head coaching experience and no tourney experience.

SO...either pay a boatload of money to a proven coach and hope, or stick with what you got and hope he continually improves as he has done.

I'm not sure what's surprising in that? Are you saying the more talented team on paper is always the better team? Or that chemistry isn't a factor?

Nope not saying any of those things. I'm surprised that you think the problem with this year's team is the players not buying in, but feel confident that year four under Martin will be different. I don't see the logic.

Regardless, goodnight. I'm out.

You don't think if we would've played defense the way we have the last 5 games we wouldn't be in a much better spot? Over the last 5 games we are a top 10 defensive team in the country.

You don't think a coach having all his players makes a difference?

Did you miss the many comments Martin has had throughout the year about some players not having defense in their DNA?
