Cuonzo's first official recruiting offer

Irony:
"Great point, ZO has never, as a head coach had to deal with the ego's of the all american types, and those are the type of kids that the vol fans are accustome to seeing under Pearl. However, IMO Richardson will now go from 3 star to a 4 if he signs with UT. The ESPN's of the world have to promote their product."

From here.

I guess they didn't get the memo that ESPN hates UT.

well if you want to beat KY I don't think this is going to cut it - probably a great pickup for MO state

I watched both vids. He dosen't shoot a jumper at all in the first vid. The second vid shows two jumpers and kind of a set shot , witch he hits all three. Think about it. Is this all the time some of you need to tell if a kid is any good or not? You wanna be coaches that wouldn't know talent if it hit you in the face.

This kid isnt signed with MState. Cuonzo isn't calling him from State using State phones telling him not to go to class.

The differences are astronomical and if you can't see that, then you need to look closer. Its obvious to anyone paying attention.

Astronomical?? come on... Ya if you search for differences in the situations you'll find them but MSU lost their coach very suddenly and now their best recruit is following...

If we pull either Christian Kirk or Dorrian Williams from MSU to here then I'd have a better argument.

Sidenote: Christian Kirk's high school is called "Kickapoo"

Not impressive. While he is fast and can certainly dunk in transition, he has a very slow developing shot that comes from his chest. He was also faked out of his shorts at the beginning of the Memorial video.

Wish we were recruiting either #1 or #23 from that team, though.

As it is, Cuonzo would be best served, IMO, by letting the mid-major talent that he was recruiting at Missouri St. stay in the mid-majors. He should be talking with Pearl and then going after the players that Pearl was recruiting.

Right now, the last thing he should be doing is talking with Pearl. I am sure there are some guys he is recruiting that Pearl was too. If not, I am sure there is a good reason for it. Maybe he should consult you since it seems you know better than him :eek:hmy:

A highlight video that shows the prospect hitting all of his shots! Say it ain't so!

I would trust the new coach on whether he believes whether this kid can help at UT. He may or may not be a 'silent' commit to MState. If he is not committed by LOI, he is fair game to any school with a scholarship available.

I would expect that Coach Martin is processing a ton of information right now. The team loses 5 kids who contributed, may lose 2 more, there are 2 recruits on the fence (and even if they stay committed, entrance could be an issue) and he may face a loss of scholarship(s) in June. He obviously knows what this kid can do in his system. I doubt much that at this point, he is too concerned with the rest of the SEC. Again, I would defer to him.

if i was Cuonzo, i wouldn't call Pearl. his recruits don't turn out too good if you haven't noticed. i wouldn't want any part of his big time recruits if they're anything like Tatum, Woolridge, Hall, and Jurick. even though Golden and McRae are young, they didn't look anything like i hoped they would either.

Agree. Ware = Tatum I'm thinking.

Being in the top 150 is not as impressive in basketball as it would be in football as the rosters are much smaller.

The number of 'major' programs is the same, if not a bit higher.

But thanks for enlightening me on the roster size. I was unaware the basketball team didn't carry the same number as the football team.

Signed vs unsigned
Old school's phones vs new school's phones

I hardly think you have to 'search' to find the differences.

This situation happens all the time. Kiff's actions, however, do not.

seems like someone we'd have to develop, but a solid player, nonetheless. Just don't expect him to contribute much as a freshman.

Apparently, its all the time you need to say that he is good. From the videos, I am not impressed. I imagine there are probably more impressive videos of him out there.

That said, his shot is ugly and will need to be refined in order for him to get it off at the next level. I am also taken back by the excitement of some on the board over a kid whose decision was down to Wichita St. and Missouri St.

Martin's "first recruit" appears to be a kid that possesses average talent and will not be ready to make an impact until at least his sophomore, if not his junior, year.

One scouting site said Richardson has limitless potential. I'll take him over Ware

Just askin...why is it ok with everyone for martin to take recruits away from the school he left abruptly for what he thinks us a better job but it wasn't for kiffin?

Zo didn't promise not to recruit the kids and then turn around and do it. Kiffhole lied about it; Zo didn't
