Great win and a good win for the program.

I thought the early morning start wouldn't help us, but maybe it did.

They played great today. The defense was fantastic. I had my doubts about Martin, but today's performance eases my fears. I think all of the Pearlophiles (and I am one of them) wanted to see something like this so that we know that we have someone who knows what he is doing.

Did you see on Tatum's three how they set that up with about 10 seconds on the shot clock. Very impressive.

(Delayed response as I was just now, finally, able to watch the game)

Absolutely fantastic win. Fantastic defensive effort. Great game plan -- Florida was never able to find a rhythm. Finally played the ball around on offense and looked for a drive or an open shot, instead of forcing 3s.

I would love to see this win energize the team and the fans going forward (TBA sure looked like it needed a kick in the tail today).

Props to Coach Martin and the Vols on a great game.

Hoping for bigger/better wins down the road but given the .500 record and some of the poor losses, I'm definitely happy. I've said numerous times I'll give C-Mart a pass for this season despite some of the gross losses. I'm used to watching my teams rebuild and taking time to gel, so I'll be patient. I'm expecting more in year two. He's really got to be competing by year three. So anyways... good win and hopefully this is a sign of better things to come. Would be amazing if they turned the corner and made the tournament but it's most likely going to take winning the SEC tourney. I suppose if they put together enough big wins they could make it but they're running out of opportunities.

Everyone will look at it as a Pearl thing and not a Mears thing.

I wish they wouldn't. Mears wore the jacket to antagonize the opponent and Pearl wore it to honor Mears and I think he did it to antagonize the opponent too. That isn't Martin's personality, but I think the crowd would love it if he did it. I liked the big orange tie he had on today.

I'd like it, but I could completely understand not doing it.

Is Zo going to wear the Orange Blazer this season ?

When you look at the big picture, Pearl may have ruined the potential of that tradition. He will be equally associated with with the blazer as Mears IMO. I suppose hard feelings could pass in time, but I don't see any current or future UT coach donning it in the next 20 years. Could be wrong though, who knows? I wouldn't be in favor of it, myself. Not trying to sound like a crazy Pearl-hater, but this is an issue I have a firm stance on at the moment.

I am still buzzing from this game... If we win against another ranked team in the next week or so would we have a chance to get ranked?

No. Too many rough losses. I think the goal at this point is to continue to improve, outplay our previous performance, etc. I'll take beating Florida and above them in the SEC standings at this point!!

What does it really matter? It's just an orange blazer. Dooley wears orange pants. I love it when coaches wear the colors. Opposing fans can't stand our orange and when the fans wear it and the coaches wear it then it just gets under their skin even more.

If Phil had worn orange pants honoring Neyland, who wore orange pants, then Dooley decided to wear them, VN was go into a cataclysmic meltdown so bad, you could see the orange rage from space (I know this didn't really happen).

Almost the same thing would happen with the Overall Overreactors and Grocerites if Cuonzo wore the blazer.
