Lsu and a&m will square up soon. Tx has trap games riddled in with A&m to close the season. We of course have UGA but still can't take any game for granted. This is going to get dicey. I dont see the committee putting in 5 SEC teams...4 feels like a stretch. We need to grind!

Starting to agree with you. Alot of folks saying a 10-2 SEC team is in but there could be like 6 of them that end up 10-2 or better

If we lose to UGA it needs to be a memorable battle and we need to rather easily beat the rest for the committee to consider us. Hopefully UF/Arky/ and Vandy can do some damage

Biggest joke of this season but you are right. There could be about five or six 10-2 teams from the SEC and only 3-4 will get in. The rest get the Mayo and Amarillo bowls. CBS projected us into the Music City bowl.

Absolute stupidity if the Big 12 and ACC get more than their champions in. The B1G will get three who barely play each other and load up on cupcakes. Notre Dame gets to weasel in too after arguably the worst loss by a P4 team this season if they beat the barely ranked service academies and riding that A&M win.

I do not blame Sankey for wanting to take a hammer to it and pull the SEC out of this mess. Rumor is 2026 he will make the move if the CFP committee doesn’t yield more guaranteed spots for SEC teams.

12 of the top 20 SOS rankings are occupied by the SEC and we all play each other. The other 8 slots are mostly B1G and like 2 ACC teams. The whole system sucks.

Maybe that's the plan. The SEC makes the networks way too much money to just ignore them. Make the SEC fans mad this year in order to push the 2 conference deal. Which would basically be minor league NFL

Also gonna need Bama to beat LSU most likely.

In the end, think Texas and Georgia make the championship game at 11-1.

I think we have to or at least take it to the wire. Also, I think it's interesting that this post is about the conference championship game which was HUGE a year or two ago but now the only concern is how to get in the playoffs.

In this scenario without the upsets, A&M finishes with 2 SEC losses that would give them 3 losses overall with the ND loss, so they are out. LSU would have 2 losses overall with the loss to USC. Tennessee would have the head to head over Alabama and Missouri will have lost to Alabama, so Missouri is out. Georgia would make the SECCG based on the head to head over Texas. And Texas would get in over LSU due to the point differential tiebreaker. Texas, Georgia, and Tennessee should be in. It would come down to a decision of LSU or Alabama making the CFP and Alabama would own the head to head so theoretically LSU could go 7-1 in conference and be left out of the CFP. It would still be chaos even if everything finishes chalk.

This expansion of playoffs is silly. If we lose 2 games and miss the playoffs. It's not a crime. The playoff expansion was to make sure the best teams get in. When you get to 8,9,10,11,12.....they were not the best teams. If you get left out, I believe you already had your chance. No reason to cry about it.

The winner of the LSU/A&M game has a very real chance of finishing 7-1 in conference. In any tiebreaker scenario, Texas weak conference schedule works against them, i think. Leaving them out of the CCG puts them in the playoffs at 11-1 and someone is going to have to play them in DKR the first round.

It will all change scenarios this weekend! Too many permutations to consider right now! It will be more upsets and surprises looming! We need to focus hard of KY and MSU to make sure we are in good shape heading to Athens. Every team in this league can have a good day. And some will catch some others not ready. That is likely to happen. And then it starts all over about where is everyone positioned!
