8. Curt Maggitt, DE/LB, Tennessee: He might not have played last year, but Maggitt is arguably one of the best at his position. He'll play more defensive end this year, but his goal every time he's on the field is to hit the quarterback. If he can stay healthy, he'll do that a lot.

Let's hope his ankle heals and he's back on the field for Saturday's practice as planned.

I'm starting to think you don't sleep.

And yes let's hope so. I expect big things from him this year if he can stay healthy.

To play devil's advocate there are a lot of wildcards with Maggitt: staying healthy, switching positions, and he hasn't played football in a year. Let's hope he can live up to the hype.

And yes, I tend to be an insomniac at times. :)

I was sad for Curt that he got hurt. He was on his way to all America imo. He showed insane amount of talent and skill set. He could cover the field like no one and chase people down

He can be the best pass rusher we have had in years, he just has to stay on the field. Hope he can get 100 percent healthy and keep it that way.

I am really surprised at the hype around Maggit. I am all for him and hope he can be everything he always wanted to be, I just don't know HOW it can be done. He hasn't played against an opponent in a very long time. Half his college career has been sitting. How is this hype possible? I don't know, I haven't been around him, I don't know him, I haven't seen him play. That's the point tho, no one has seen him play. Where is all this hype coming from?

Because when he's been healthy he's been a dynamic force. His talent jumps out. Both his freshman and pre-injury sophomore seasons he was UT's most disruptive defensive player. Let's all hope he can have a healthy 2014...Lord knows we'll need him. :hi:

Was he? Because I was watching, and well, I mean he was as good as anyone else on the team. I think he has been riding off the hype of his recruitment and he has the right mind set (as a leader) no doubt. Everyone says that. Just, yet to prove anything on the field that I'm aware of. Hope he can hit that bam a QB man. Nobody else has.

I hate that we lost out on Caleb Azubike. 4* from one of the largest schools in TN (McGavock) and Dooley didn't even offer.

Obviously we saw the same play but have differing opinions on what happened. We can all hope that my impression is what we will see this season. Like you pointed out earlier, CM is far from a sure thing as he's not shown the durability to stay on the field consistently. I hope that's behind him. :good!:
