Curt Maggitt recovery

There is a mental aspect from coming back from an acl that many people overlook without consideration.

Agreed. Maggit caught some flak for sitting this season out, but personally I'm happy the coaching staff didn't rush him back out on the field before he felt comfortable enough to play again.

You can tell our staff really cares about these kids.

It is my understanding via CBJ presser a few days ago that he expects Curt to be 100%

I sure hope so. He did a lot of Physical Therapy this year by jumping up and down on the sidelines and waving a towel for 2 hours. That should get him back to health quickly.

Kurt might get a hang nail and have to sit out another year.

You can always tell who the chicken$#!* posters are on this site!
Curt wanted to come back and practiced as if he were, it was CBJ and coaches that kept him out!

Dillhole!

Might be wrong, but I could've sworn that butch said in a presser midway through the season that he thought Curt was ready but that curt wanted to try and redshirt the season. The coaching staff chose to respect that.

Personally it doesn't matter to me one way or another. I would like all parties involved to be comfortable about his situation before he went back in. Just get better Curt!

He didn't say that he thought he was "ready to play" exactly. What he said was more along the lines of "In making our decision for Curt to redshirt, we took into account what Curt and his family thought was best for his future."

Butch never came out and said he thought Curt could play. On a few occasions, he referenced the fact that Curt hadn't overcome the mental aspect of te injury yet.

Cool thanks for clarifying. Still want him to be ready mentally and physically before going out there. Hence the decision to redshirt was fine by me for all that it matters ;)

I agree. Plus this way we get him for 2 more seasons potentially instead of just one.

They amputated Curt's leg just above the knee, but CBJ is confident he will still be faster than AJ.

There we go, any excuse we can find to talk bad about one of our players. I am just surprised you stopped with Aj. Surely you could have worked in a couple more players into that "joke"

I'm recovering from a pretty nasty leg break. The fall was brutal and as a result messed up my foot too (no break). My Dr said if she didn't know me any better she'd think my foot pain is all in my head. If anything though I'm usually the complete opposite of that.

Several x rays and probes later it still hurts but nothing can be seen. Yet its not healing completely and is lingering at around 85%. Sometimes injuries can cause other things to go awry as well.

Sounds like you may have a soft tissue or cartilage injury that would not show up on X-ray. MRI is the only way to be sure. There are lots of small ligaments and tendons in the foot that can cause major problems if not dealt with.
