Cutcliffe getting any job he wants...

I know he has done great things here this year. I mean dynamite things. But we have one small problem. He hasn't been able to fix our running game. We are 10th in the SEC in running. Only KY and MISS ST. are worse. I just don't see that he is the best candidate out there.

Just to play devil's advocate here:

1. he had one year to turn around the offense. In every area but the running game - we improved. Our running game wasn't good last year; we just relied on it more so it's not like we got worse in this area.

2. a mark of a good coach is adapting to what you've got. Our line was not great a run-blocking and our RB's were in and out with injuries (no one player got the reps). We still had a potent offense eventhough I'm sure Cut would have rather run more.

Do you think he has done that?

see above post. I do not. But if he can get a head coaching gig in a major (albeit down) conference, let him. I've never considered him more than an overglorified qb's coach. If UT would actually search outside the family, I think we could find a very good OC somewhere that can help ainge, crompton, coleman, etc and boast a very very powerful balanced offense

Could our running game woes be the result of TT moving to receivers and having Kurt Roper coach the running backs? I imagine CUT calls the plays to get the ball in the hands of the best skill positions and if the running backs are not the best ones for that then that falls on Roper not CUT...IMHO

i think that falls on Adkins a lot. our O-line has been slip slip slipping away for years now. Even the Munoz years i thought our O-line was overrated. This year, it's non existent. Coker has speed and can blow by people, I think Foster and Hardesty would be really good w/ the proper line. imho. Taylor was exactly what the receivers needed. someone who can get them pumped up. Roper is young and I just can't say yay or nay on him yet. Maybe we can give Luke more reigns on the O-line and actually finally hire a special teams coach?

Cutcliffe said last night, he has not and does not expect to be contacted by BAMA.

He went on to say that he is VERY happy here and has no plans of leaving.

I have no idea where the writer of this story got that Cutcliffe was "very interested" in NC St.

it's called media hogwash. if you truly think cutcliffe doesn't wanna be a HC again, you truly are off your rocker O2

He went on to say that he is VERY happy here and has no plans of leaving.

What would you expect him to say? "I hate this place and I am desperately seeking any opportunity available"

I am sure he is happy here and does not have any plans of leaving, at the very moment those words were spoken. But in reality they mean nothing.

The direct quote was "Obviously, I would be very interested if they are interested in me"
It sounds like the reporter got that out of his mouth.

yeah... "he has no plans of leaving" because he's yet to be offered a job. When that offer comes rolling in he will be calling Atlas Moving Co because he has different plans.

why? he said when he came he wanted to be a head coach. this was just a stepping stone to get there. There are no quotes saying he has changed his mind and wants to stay here. I'm happy where I'm at in life, but if i'm offered something better that I want, i'm there. Cut will go when he gets an offer that is worthwhile. NC St is worthwhile

nice facilities, triple his contract, major conference, cut has a fabulous recruiting base in NC (only problem being he now goes up against Davis), and a program that has been steady and is just a few steps away from being a bigger power. Plus it's the not the stress of the Bama job.

never said he would. also never said he was only going to go a school where he could win championships. But if he can get the school rolling, he could sneak an ACC title in there... again, i don't think cut will be a good HC somewhere. But it's what he wants to do, so he'll go if he gets a chance

what does that have to do w/ anything? no i've only met the guy, and by met the guy i mean i would recognize but he merely shook my hand and he has no recollection of it i'm sure. But i do know he's repeatedly stated his desire to be a head coach. but i'm sure he was just making all that up so he could scare some UT fans

It has to do with everything. You think to know Cutcliffe well enough to know that he will jump on any chance to be head coach. All you know is that the media tells you. You don't have a clue what Cut really wants to do, so stop acting like you do.

let's see. i watched and heard directly from Cut's mouth that his desire is to be a head coach again. i think that pretty much sums up what Cut wants to do. There's this thing called slander and libel in which the media can't make stuff up. so yeah, I do know that Cut wants to be a HC.

You're right. The media is never wrong about anything. Everything is based on complete fact. Ha, you don't know jack.

wow.. pot, kettle. When the media shows a report of Cutcliffe with about six mics in front of him and he says he'd love to be a head coach again, I think that says all there is. if you really want to doubt that, you need help man.
