Sorry Sarge, I've got to disagree on this one.  Only Norm Chow has developed better QBs in the last decade than Cutcliffe.

Andy Kelly is the career leading passer in Arena football.  Set passing records as UT.

He turned Heath Shuler into a Heisman contender and 1st quarterback taken in the NFL draft.

Peyton Manning was the 1st overall player taken in the draft and has 2 NFL MVPs.  Set the current passing records at UT.

Tee Martin played in the NFL for 4 seasons (pension) and is currently in the CFL.  Led Vols to a national title.

Romaro Miller has spent time in the NFL and is now in the CFL. Set records as Ole Miss that were later broken by...

Eli Manning was the 1st player taken in the NFL draft.

Compare that to the following Tennessee quarterbacks and their development since '98....
Casey Clausen
AJ Suggs
James Banks
Brent Shaeffer
Erik Ainge
Rick Clausen

All Vol, I like your style. Here is another point I never really hear. Heath Shuler did nothing in the NFL. Everyone points to him as a bench mark of talent, but I would argue that Ainge has his quickness and armstrength...soley based on what Shuler did in the NFL.

Could it be that Shuler was Cutcliffs most shinning accomplishment?

I agree with you.... it seems as if some of the posters don't even watch the games... just read about it in the Sunday paper?

Or maybe just read this board and how the coaching was so poor?

Shuler did finish 2nd in the Heisman his junior season and looked like a sure thing in the NFL. Who knew he couldn't read defenses?

:hi: Many, many times the right play has been called or checked to.  The receivers have been open.  The problems have been, dropped passes, overthrown balls, fumbles or penalties.

No offensive co-ordinator can overcome poor play.

Pound the Rock and Run to Victory!!!! :run:  :td:

They drop passes and fumble because they are poorly coached and not developed at all. Robert Meachem must be wondering why he ever came here.

I think Meachem has come along just fine, but he has been bothered by injuries all year.

Where are Swain and Smith? Are they still on campus?

I thought Smith was a bit ove last year, he just came up with some big plays. As for Swain, he has not had a bad year but I sure would have liked to see him get a foot in vs. SC.
