Dabo punks Spurrier

Dabo's resume will never sniff anything close to what Spurrier's is. Also, for someone that isn't concerned, he sure has enough stats on South Carolina and Spurrier off the top of his head.

Steve is somewhere grinning about the fact that he owns a condo in Dabo's head.

Here's what I still get a kick out of. When Kiffin was here all the FL fans liked to talk about how classless he was and how awful what he said was. Spurrier said the same dang things when he was at FL and they not only loved it then, they STILL talk about it and long for those days. When I say "Isn't that the same stuff Kiffin said that you didn't like?", they say "Oh, no, not even close. Kiffin was classless."

BTW, everything Dabo said was true. Can't argue with it.

The difference is that SOS backed it up on gameday and is probably one of the top 3 to 5 coaches to ever coach in the SEC.

I saw that quote (allegedly from Spurrier) right after the Clemson game. People on twitter and CockyTalk were saying it was Todd Ellis that said that, and not Spurrier. Whoever said it shouldn't have said it.

Regardless, Dabo has once again shown his ass. All that history they have means shat right now. We haven't just beat them the last three years. We have completely dominated them in every phase of the game. The games haven't even been close.

And yet only one of them is playing for a championship this weekend. And in his defense-that team is extremely young.

His rant is entirely immature, but he is going down as a cult hero in Clemson right now.

My favorite part: "my kids grandkids won't live long enough for this to become a rivalry."

Also saying anyone with only 35 wins after 5 years should be fired was a nice touch.

Everything Dabo said was true, your program is at it's highest point right now and historically it's been garbage. Not sure how that's showing his ass.

Yet, South Carolina has done exactly jack sh!t in over 100 years of football and Clemson has done more. Much more. Sometimes the truth hurts and Spurrier didn't even know how foolish his comment really was.

That history means nothing to Spurrier, and Dabo isn't going to be able to use Clemson's tradition as a crutch in this rivalry.

A fourth consecutive loss to Spurrier next year, and Swinney will be the head coach at Samford in 2013.

Historically Clemson has owned SC, but Dabo had nothing to do with that. Since he's been there SC has completely owned Clemson.

"Why are we talking about this on Thurs before the championship game?" Now excuse me while I go off about the team that just whipped us for 6 more minutes

Their only 10 win seasons just happened. In the history of the program.

And they still hold the current honor of going from the #6team in the country to 6-6 and no bowl invite.

Every point Dabo makes in there is a valid one, and he is responding to something being reported that Spurrier said, and something that even if he didn't he did not retract-just as Dabo said. The fact is I'm sure Spurrier liked that this was attributed to him even if Ellis said it, as long as it benefited him. I'm sure now he will come out and say he never said it. He's a clown, and Dabo called him out. Good for Dabo. (and of course if James Franklin had come after TN like this I would be pissed, but that means Dooley would have equally have been a Jacka$$ in public, which is doubtful to happen)

And 3 losses.

And a much much younger team this year.

And the comment that got him going was that South Carolina sure ain't Clemson. And based on history-he's right-they are not Clemson. Historically South Carolina is a joke, aside from the last two years. Prior to these last two years they were .500 all-time in football.

That's great. And Dabo had nothing to do with any of that...and none of it will save his job. In fact, it hurts him. The expectations are for him to dominate South Carolina like every Clemson coach before him, including Tommy Bowden.

He can pound his chest about Clemson's tradition if he wants...right now Spurrier owns him, and can KO him next year in Death Valley.

Yep. Saying that Clemson has historically beaten South Carolina and then he can follow through on that history is a bad move. It will be brought up if/when Clemson starts struggling.

I think winning and playing for ACC titles is also high on his list of to-do's, and he will be doing that tomorrow, for the 2nd time in his tenure. And with a team of mainly freshman and sophomores, and another solid class in the works.

You'd think that from the outside, but getting to Charlotte is secondary to beating South Carolina at Clemson.

Beating the Gamecocks is top priority at Clemson University. Winning the ACC is #2. Warped or not, that's the way it is.

If VT beats Dabo on Saturday, the South Carolina game could determine his fate next year.

Of course it's true, but that's not the point. He talks about winning and losing with class, and then proceeds to go on a rant about South Carolina. It was unnecessary and hypocritical because there was nothing classy about that video. Dabo might be right, it might be another fifty years before we take three in a row. That being said, he needs to shut the hell up until they beat us again. He sounds like a spoiled child.

I can't get over the losing with class part. Nobody knows for sure if Spurrier even said it. He responded to an alleged comment, which is childish.

Are you really comparing the sec to the acc right now? Clemson had a very easy schedule and the only reason they are in the championship game is because the rest of the conference sucks. SC would have easily been at the championship game if they had clemsons schedule.

Since being hired he has not beaten SC, that has to have their fans angry, so saying that probably gives him a boost with the fans..until he loses tomorrow..lol

Exactly. Doesn't even know for sure if he said it, but decided to respond to an alleged quip with a lengthy, petty diatribe. Amateur.

He beat us pretty bad while he was the interim, but that has been his only victory. You're right, though. Their fans will get a kick out of that, but they have been on his ass since Saturday. I hope Tech crushes them tomorrow.
