It being a Primative Baptist church makes sence now. And the fact that it was just a "family church". These people are disgusting.

I remember hearing about this when all of this began. What exactly were they protesting? Were they pro gay or anti gay? What does being gay have to do with military. Sorry I've just never quite followed what exactly was going on. And 1st Amendment protects you from being locked up for saying things not from just being a douche to people in sensitive times and places... if that were the case no liable or slander case would ever hold water. (I may be wrong on that I am not even pretending to be anywhere close to a lawyer).

This is what it all boils down to. This man is a lawyer and preacher who claims he and those who follow him are a part of the very few chosen by God to be saved. Everyone else is damned from the minute they were born and therefore deserve all the hate and torture his family, who are just about the only followers he has, can dish out.

He is just trying to rouse anger and have people and government to react and try to silence him. That way he can sue in court for money and embarrassment. He is a truly pathetic man.

Would it be unconstitutional for Congress to pass a law that there will be no demonstrations of any type allowed for one hour prior to and one hour following the funeral service for any member of the armed services killed in the service of his country within one mile of the service?

Hold on pal, we have Primitive Baptists who post on this board and Phelps is in no way representative of PBs no more that Jimmy Carter and Slick Willy Clinton are representative of Southern Baptists.

Phelp's claim of being any kind of Baptist is absurd.

Here is the narative in brief:

According to Phelps who heads up a cult of which all members are relatives, either blood or by marriage.

According to his mantra:

Homosexuality is wrong.

Because the USA allows homosexuals to serve, our soldiers get killed.

To bring this before the public he stages protests at funerals of servicemen who have been killed in action.

I'm not going to get in to just how I disagree with him on about 19 different levels.

The only reason I brought it up is that I'm a bit disgruntled with such shoddy reporting on the topic that doesn't give the name of the judge that gave this putrid decission overturning of a lower court and expecially POed that the judge in question didn't give his reasoning for his stupid assed opinion.
