from his twitter account:

I want to apologize to Coach Warllick and LadyVol Nation. I’m not writing this to back away from my comments. What’s done is done. But my delivery was terrible and totally out of character. I’m part of the coaching fraternity and should know better.

A lot of people have chimed in, but those who really know me KNOW that I want nothing but the best for Holly, her staff, and all the young lady’s associated with that program. Hopefully, we can all grow from this.

Here is what my parents would have told me, and what I told my own kids: You made a commitment to UNC. Honorable people keep their commitments. It doesn't matter if you don't like it, don't agree, etc. You MAKE IT WORK.

And, if it had been me, I never would have known my parents did not agree with my coach, or teacher, or whatever. I would have been told, as I told my own kids, "It's up to YOU to convince her that she is wrong, by working twice as hard as you have been."

It's his first year as the AAA manager stop being a hater

DeShields, 47, became the Bats' third manager in four seasons when he joined the club for the 2015 campaign. Louisville finished third in the International League West at 64-80 in DeShields' first season.

2016 is his Second season as head coach.

Go Memphis Redbirds, the AAA team of the ST Louis Cardinals.

Screw that. That's like staying at a job because "you made a commitment". Give your two weeks and move on.

If you're unhappy, go someplace and be happy.

Spoken like many of the folks I have worked around. The US has the most extended "childhood" in the world.

A legal adult (over 18) makes a commitment freely. Why should they not be held to it? The University made a commitment. They should be held to it as well.

The point is, I doubt this young woman is going to be happy in much of anywhere.

Well truthly this team is a mess under Holly and headed deeper South. A parent should be more understanding, even though he said the samethings that sports writers have said along with tv commentators. The difference is most of them throw indirect insults without mentioning Holly as the issue. I think that Holly is on the hot seat not only for her coaching but the 2016 recruiting debacle is a huge issue.

Holly reminds me of Dean Smith's assistant coach that replaced him when he retired. Bill Gutherie helped Dean Smith win several championships as an assistant, however, when he replaced Dean Smith as head coach, he was a failure. I think Holly is in the same situation if not worse. For the good of this program, and her, she needs to step down. For some reason this program is not clicking on all 8 cylinders. Sometimes you just have to admit that the experiment has failed. She might go to another program with less pressure and do a better job.

Mercedes Russell looks awful playing anymore. Makes terrible decisions with the ball and is a turnover machine. Not defending Holly but she's not the one making the crappy plays its the players. Best coach in the world won't win if his/her players are making one bone headed play after the other.

Since when is the coaching not responsible for player's skill development or lack thereof? Let's roll a ball out there and save roughly a $1M/yr in staff salaries.

It is Holly's fault, yes, because she has total control of the program and all that happens within it..... If Mercedes makes terrible decisions, it is holly's total responsibility to work with her, have Craig work extra time with her , or have her at the end of her bench..... What does a head coach do? That is it.... has oversight over the whole program.... and fixes issues both micro and macro.

A good coach will know how to develop Mercedes according to her strengths and weaknesses. They would have long ago told her to stop bringing the ball down so much and stay close to the basket! Russell was the #1 recruit out of high school, she can't be that much of a bone-headed player. She needs a strong coach and staff who knows what to do with her talents. These players are completely wasted on Warlick!

Daddy and Daughter both need to transfer. Both bring nothing but Dissension to the basketball program now.

No they don't. Those players aren't looking completely unmotivated because Daddy Deshields made a tweet or two. Even in games where they win, they're looking downtrodden and unsatisfied! They hardly ever look fired up in games. I believe any dissension has more to do with losses, incredibly bad coaching, and fan dissatisfaction from all of the above.

Holly will be here next year, folks. I'll continue to support the players and staff and hope they get it figured out. Diamond's Dad was way out of line and he realized it. It's easy to be a frustrated parent at any level of play.

That is silly. You cannot fix things if they are not fixable. Now They might need to be benched.
