Dale Jr. and Jimmie Johnson get the screw job

You're right Rocky Top, the Talladega wreck was Jr.'s fault.

I know you're still hung up on Edwards getting loose and Jr. just being there in the Michigan Busch race, but it's not the same kind of deal. If Jr. or more specifically Johnson had hot loose and caused Vickers to suddenly close up on him and take him out, it'd be understandable. He just for whatever reason decided o not follow Johnson for the first time all day and hooked him into the 8 car. I don't think he meant to do it, but it doesn't change the fact he did it.

Last name or not, Vickers screwed up. Jr. has screwed up before as well. I don't care what your name is, you're not immune to screwing up and costing some guys a race. I remember a two race stretch back in 2001 at Darlington and Bristol where Jr. got into and spun out/wrecked 4 or 5 guys. The line you drew with the names does apply to what happens after a driver screws up. If their name is Johnson, Gordon, or Vickers now, it's always someone else's fault. If their name is Earnhardt Jr., Martin, or Kenseth, they immediately own up to what they did without whimpering like a little girl.

Before you go generalizing that it's all the Earnhardt fans that are throwing things on the track, perhaps you should go to a race and actually watch to see who does it. There was more than one person call in to Benny Parsons' radio show last night claiming to have seen several fans with #48 shirts throwing things at Vickers after the race. Shocking, I know, considering I've never seen a JJ fan.

I don't remember ever saying that it WAS Jr.'s fault dude. Read my post. I basicaly said the blame is differant depending on who it is and you have to admitt that. Everyone screws up and sometimes it's intentional and sometime it's not.
As far as the #8 fans throwing things, they are 98% of the people throwing stuff. Wether it's 8,24,99 or who evers fans that do it, they're morons..plain and simple.

i think it's a pretty safe generalization that Junior fans were the ones throwing crap on the track. while i'm sure not EVERY single fan threw cans on the track, based on the ratio of Junior fans to non-Junior fans at Talladega (i would estimate it's 10 to 1), it's a safe bet to say that a majority of people throwing things were Junior fans. have you ever seen the mass of exodus of what used to be fans dressed in black and now fans dressed in red at Talladega ,leave when the 3 or 8 car went/goes out of the race? his Talladega fans are there to see him win the race. nothing else.

the majority of JJ fans i've seen are women. and i've heard the male fans of JJ (there's a few) have the sexual preferences questioned at Talladega.

i'm not here to bash Junior fans. but it's been my experience based on the 5 to 6 races i go to a year, that he has the least knowledgeable and least respectful fans. like i said, my personal opinions of him as a driver aside, i think he is a stand up guy. tidwell, based on the conversations we've had in the short time i've posted here, i find you to be NOT one of those fans.

side note: my buddy who is in fact a Junior fan, almost hit Gordon's car a few years back from the very top row of the grandstands as he was doing burnouts right after turn 4. now, i don't condone that behavior, and he hasn't been back with us since, but atleast he chose a good target. not sure when Talladega cracked down on cooler restrictions (how many times have you taken a cooler larger than 14 inches into a race track?) but i think it has got something to do with the incident with Gordo a few years back. i can't wait to hear the reception Vickers gets when i go to Dega in the spring.

where do you listen to BP's show? the only race show i ever listened to or was able to find was Dave Mooney's (sp?) show on SIRIUS. i know for a fact i am thrilled for their switch to SIRIUS in January, and cannot wait for Smoke's radio show.

Wait until Gordon pass Sr. for the most wins, then watch the Earnhardt Nation liter the track.

I don't think that happens unless Gordon wrecks someone to win, again, RockyTop.

I'm not the kind of person that would throw something on the track, that's just silly. They've already said they increased security for Vickers this weekend in Charlotte.

BP's radio show comes on our local radio station that broadcasts the races. It's an MRN thing and I think you can find the affiliates on MRN's website. I'm sure there is an MRN affiliate somewhere in or around Knoxville. They're everywhere across the South. It airs at 7PM EST on Monday nights here, I don't know if that's the concrete time or if it's just the time our station chooses to air it.

Here you go, doozer.

Actually, BP's show is on PRN, not MRN. No idea why they have to have two different radio networks. The races are broadcast by MRN, while BP's show comes on PRN. Both are on the same station here in my area.

Here's a list of the PRN affiliates.

Performance Racing Network - Listen to the Latest Radio Show Broadcasts over the Web

Join Hall-of Fame driver Benny Parsons for Raybestos Fast Talk, a one-hour NASCAR motorsports call-in show. Benny, one of the sport's most colorful personalities, entertains the biggest names in the NASCAR Winston Cup and Busch Series racing every Monday night from 7 to 8 p.m.

Can we just agree that Dale jr being taken out was collateral damage for seeing jimmie "cheater" johnson getting wrecked??

I mean, yeah, sucks for Jr, but wasn't it great to see that 48 spinning around. Oh man how great was that.

Sucks for Jr though, but <point and laugh> at jimmie johnson.

But seriously. If there had been more laps left, jimmie johnson would have been able to fix his car, get back the laps and eventually win the race (Makes ya wonder about his car, ahe..cheater...hem). Good thing there was only one left.

And no replying to my post all pissed off. I know there is no such thing as a jimmie johnson "fan".

i read today that JJ still isn't talking to Vickers. what a baby. JJ should learn some class by following the lead of Dale Jr.

Not talking to Vickers shouldn't be much of a stretch, they already banned Vickers from team meetings.
