Dale Jr's Impact on the Amp Brand

he's completely opposite. he wants to win just as bad as anybody out there. thing is, he's not quite as good as the guys you mentioned and has black death for a crew chief. those guys are elite, with maybe the exception of the younger Busch, but he will be.

his problem was/is he's to loyal to his family. if he would drop that dolt Eury Jr. i think you would see a huge increase in his performance. i've heard him say in interviews, and i think somebody mentioned it in here, that sometimes he wishes he could just drive race cars and let somebody else, do everything else.

he's in the spot light because he has a genius of a business manager (his sister) who is using his name to sell everything from jeans to tailgate tents.

agree to disagree on the limelight part, but I've heard others complain about Eury. It may not be hunger, it may be pure talent. I don't think driving in the best Chevy money can buy (aka a Hendrick car) is going to get him noticeably closer to Gordon, Johnson or Smoke as far as winning championships.

i must add that while I'm a Roush guy first, I always loved the #3. Especially as a kid when he had the Wrangler car. I've found there were two types of Sr. fans. The majority easily jumped over to Jr. The rest of them never cared for Jr at all. I'm definitely in the latter.

I'm just saying it made his decision to jump from DEI to Hendrick that much easier. He looked at the profits he'd get from merchandise alone and couldn't say no. I'm not saying he doesn't care about racing, but he cares more about those dollar signs.

And I'm assuming Junior has told these things to you in person? Wow... impressive.

Thanks for once again providing great substance to these debates. you have probably responded to my posts about 20 times and every one of them has been exactly like this. That's what is impressive.

It's just funny how you always act like you know what you're talking about, when you really don't at all. If you want to state your opinion, that's fine... just don't act like what you say is fact.

Get off your high horse. Every time you post, you think you know more than the next person... when, in reality, your posts just sound like uneducated opinions.

Fact is, you don't know Junior. You don't know all the reasons he went to Hendrick. You don't know if he even thought about merchandise sales at all. You don't know anything about his situation, and yet you want to make him out to be this money-grubbing bum who doesn't like to compete.

Of course I don't know Jr and everyone with half a brain knew that was an opinion. I've stated here in the NASCAR forum I don't know that much about NASCAR these days because I hardly watch it. In fact I haven't watched a single lap of a single race this year, yet somehow I still finished second in last week's Pick 'Em.

i haven't had caffeine in over 4 years. Jr isn't going to change my mind. I didn't drink Folgers because of Mark Martin, I didn't use Valvoline because of him, and I have no need to use Viagara. Logos on cars do little in convincing me what to buy or use. My second driver would be Tony Stewart. I've been in Home Depot three times in my life. I can't count the trips I've made to Lowe's.

Yeah, Bill... you're so much better than all the people who purchase the products that sponsor their favorite drivers.

Sure, Bill... you're so much better than those people who so "easily" jumped over to Junior.

Like I said, get off your high horse. You're no better than anyone else here on this board.

It should be obvious by now, Bill... you're so much better than the rest of us.

I'm just saying... the way your write your posts, you act like you know everything about everything. You put down others and lift yourself up. I mean, look at those posts I used as examples. You don't think you do that?

Show me once in those posts where I said i was better than everyone else. I lucked into second place somehow and I've repeatedly mentioned in here that I'm trying to relearn the sport.

Everyone on this board posts opinions. I assumed it was obvious. Just for you from now I'll begin all my posts with IMO.

as for this post, those are just facts about me. It's not my fault if you are over analyzing it for some reason.

for this post, that is what I've found in my discussions with former Sr fans. Still not seeing any evidence of considering myself better than others.

Your posts imply a sense of being above others. I've already made my case. If you can't see it... well, agree to disagree. As always...

Nothing personal taken here, but in my personal opinion you need to forgive me for hating Peyton Manning as a player :) and realize I'm just like the majority of this board who likes to get on here, post their opinions and then debate them with people who either agree or disagree.

besides, we're mostly all Vol fans here. Even LG and McCat secretly cheer for the Vols, they just won't admit it.

I'm the guilty party, and I also posted in the thread re Junior vs Kyle Busch doing the best, that his crew chief would be the difference. I have seen nothing to make me feel Little E likes the limelight, but I don't see him turning down any money either, nor would I if in his shoes.

My understanding on Bud not going to Hendrick was that Hendrick wanted more than they were willing to pay.

Haha... that's unforgiveable. Yeah, I gotcha... I get amped up pretty easily.
