Dan Brooks can't understand why Fulmer isn't working...

Fulmer will be the next head coach at Kentucky.

That is funny, KY wants nothing to do with Fulmer. Rich Brooks has forgot more about coaching football then CPF ever learned. Brooks the only coach that has a shot of taking the Wildcats to 5 bowls in a row.

If I was Fulmer I would setting on a different beach at least every other month.

Hippies kept running up and pouring water on him.... They tried to push him back into the ocean but couldn't.... Not even their trusty VW microbus could budge him.....

"I stay in touch with Phillip and he told me he really would like to get back in (coaching) and he's pursued a couple of things that haven't worked out. . . .''

-Dan Brooks

So this is code for, "Nobody is stupid enought to hire my arse."

maybe Fulmer's staff wasn't THAT BAD, it was adequete - but Fulmer was SO BAD himself, he dragged the staff's strengths into absolute mediocrity. Maybe Fulmer was the weakest link on that staff. The fact that he is one of the only ones not working has to indicate something.

Fulmer interviews schools, not vice versa. Soon as he finds a fit, he'll graciously agree to work like heck molding men.

I don't think Dabo is gonna do anything amazing at Clemson, but he did do something in his first year that had not been done before at Clemson, it was pretty ok what he did there. I'd rather have him as a coach than Fulmer.

What did he do that had never been done before?

Coach in the ACC Championship game? Did you see the rest of the teams in that division?

yeah, Clemson's division was terrible, but they had never been to the ACC champ game before. It's not eye opening, but it hadn't been done befoer. Just saying.

Charlie Weis's best year was his first, and I think in 5 years the same could be said of Dabo and will be said of Gene Chizik.

Fulmer is not going to get another major coaching position. His ship has sailed. Not being critical, just factual. Programs looking for a new coach want someone young who can relate to players, dish out discipline, and rebuild their program. Fulmer is approaching 60, has a hard time with the discipline issue, and has never built his own program.

His resume just does not fit the needs of programs looking for a new coach.

He is a good man and what our program needed last decade but times have changed.

There was something that happened in New Orleans yesterday that will put Florida in the same boat that we were in about 4 years ago. Several players talked about how Meyer was like a father figure to them and how they promoted the family atmosphere there. That is the exact thing that became a problem with this program. Our staff did not know where family ended and the necessary discipline to run a program needed to begin.

UT should use this as a recruiting advantage in that we want you to come to UT to grow into a professional or a NFL prospect. We want you to grow into a man and are not going to support your lack of growth by acting like an enabling family or parent figure. After watching Meyer, Fulmer, and CMR it appears that they are enablers. Saban and CLK appear to have a system that promotes mature growth or go some where else.

I cant understand why Dan Brooks IS working...I dealt with him on a high profile recruit at my HS in Florida 7 years ago and he seemed to be past his recruiting prime THEN

Why isn't he working? He took a great program with all the advantages, and ran it into the ground by not working hard. Very simple.

Why are there so many Fulmer threads today? I don't hate the guy at all, but I can't see how talking about him, whether positive or negative, is in any way relevent to where the program is at today and where it is going.

Perhaps he's just an easy target or perhaps all topics related to current team, bowl, recruiting, etc have been exhausted.

I could take the Wildcats to 5 bowls in a row as well if 5 of my 12 games were against every directional equivalent school in the country.
