I get why some hate him but let's be clear, Lane leaving didn't mean we were destined to hire Dooley, Jones and Cornbread!

He left UT for his “dream school “ which anyone would have done the same. Its the way he did it. He refused to man up & do it the right way. Instead, he tried to sneak out in the middle of the night. The week before signing day. He then called all the recruits & told them not to attend class so they could follow him to HIS dream school. But you’re right, he didn’t do anything wrong to UT……..

You do know you at look at a persons profile and see when they joined? I have been a UT fan since the late 80's. My statement only shows I don't agree with your outlook.

I am aware of everything that happened. I am also aware that people tend to get emotional about such things instead of just seeing things from both perspectives. Do I think he handled the situation the best way possible? Nope but I realize he was a young coach and it was a really weird situation. It came out of nowhere and things happened fast. That is reality and in those situations people make mistakes. If you remove emotions from the situation then the things Kiffin does are funny and harmless. He is just from a different generation and a lot of our fans are old school and not in touch with how things are. More and more coaches will be like him as the years go on. Get used to it.

UT fans get mad about Kiffin because of what happened not what he does. There is like an unwritten rule that pretty much every coach that was a former coach here is hated and sucks. Its very weird. Folks that get mad at his barbs at UT are silly because he trolls EVERYONE. UT the Will Smith of fan bases. That's who we are now. Slapping folks because they made a joke about our wife who was cucking us instead of getting our own house in order.

yeah, but I don't have a problem with it...he's a different cat and everyone knows it. Most of his stuff is all in good fun. Pretty boring having personalities like Jimbo, Kirby, Saban, etc in sec...he keeps it lively, Spurrier did too.

Yeah, either he’s too young to remember Lane leaving after one season at the worst possible time for us to hire a coach (leaving us with one Derrick Doofus aka shower boy) or he just has convenient memory loss. Some folks will go to great lengths to defend that immature twerp.

Laughable how clueless you are about the situation. Kiffin tried to take recruits already on campus at Tennessee when he bolted. Most people affiliated with the program think he’s one of the biggest pieces of crap in all of college football. Tennessee also isn’t the only SEC program that has employed him that had high level people that feel that way.

I know exactly what the situation was. I am just not caught up in emotion about it. Could he have done things better? Sure. But people maje mistakes and when you put it all in context it get blown way out of proportion. It was a crazy situation. But if course everyone wants the be the victim and play holier than thou. Had it not been for 1 USC getting turned down by like 6 coaches for their job and 2 UT still being in paying coaches peanuts mode still, history would have been very different. I personally think everyone involved overreacted. He was immature and fans were nuts burning mattresses. Lets call it even and move on.

Folks spend so much time on hate and butthurt they sont have time to enjoy what we have now. Sorry if I see me ex being happy I dont care. I've moved on.

I’m not talking about the fans here. Lane pissed a lot of powerful people off on his way out. Did the same thing at Bama. There’s a reason why his phone never rings when there’s a big opening. Programs talk about how he is. Currently Ole Miss is getting an eye opening to the kind of person Kiffin is.
