Another woman who was very competitive was Denise McCluggage in the 50's & 60's road racing events. She won a number of SCCA races including winning the grand touring category at Sebring in a Ferrari 250 GT in 1961, and she scored a class win in the Monte Carlo Rally in a Ford Falcon in 1964. She was highly respected by her male colleagues.
