Outstanding! Anyone who disagrees with this does not understand Danny's job. I am truly impressed with what he has been able to accomplish since taking over as AD. One of the biggest feat's in my opinion, is getting the boosters on the same page. Since before Dave Heart, it felt like the boosters held a dark cloud over UT with their Ego. You can tell now that has vanished. Good on Danny!

Always interesting to consider possible hidden currents.

This might have just been due. Gotta update every contract from time to time.

But it could also be that someone else was making a run at Dan, and we needed to slam the door in their face.

We'll never know. Just interesting to wonder.

Go Vols!
Need to protect the Crown Jewels.

Boyd + Plowman.

Danny has done a great job. He's our first AD that "gets it" since Dickey. But he's also been a beneficiary of things that occurred/were put into place before him. He only hired one of the coaches that is doing well, and the fundraising success he's overseeing is because of the performance in those sports.
He knows how to prime the pump.

Speaking of DW doing his job…

Previous volleyball attendance record was 3300, for PSU game Friday night there were 6,193….New record. I was there and the student section was crazy,

Good to see the all sport school doing well.,..Even if DW did have to bribe them with football points. The drive for football points even caused an accident in the backup onto I-40 Friday morning at 8 am in the student traffic to get cross country points.

But most students did stay for volleyball at least through 2nd set and more than 2/3 was there at end of 3….

Love what this guy is doing with our entire athletic department, seems every decision he makes is a home run for the university.
Everything except the whole naming rights business. Although I know that is important financially, I am still an old man yelling at clouds. Maybe we can make up for it by changing his official title to “Director of Athletics brought to you by Wiegels”

He’s doing a great job. Like it or not, his job is to MAXIMIZE revenue opportunities . Todays college sports requires a lot of money to be successful. Only a few years ago, Tennessee was losing money & barely had a reserve. No more.

Cashed checks without changing the name of Neyland. I didn’t have the same affinity for Thompson-Boling and I doubt the baseball stadium changes anything but some tastefully placed signage.

I wouldn’t mind a bit of they gave corporate naming rights to the restrooms at Neyland as long as it was Buc-ees and they did the remodel 😂

He got that exactly right, the one I don’t like is the Food City deal. wait til you see other stadiums having their names changed. As much as we hate it, it’s an arms race now. You have to bring in the $$ any way you can or get left behind.

Come on! Let’s be realistic— it’s national championship in every sport or he has to go!
