Agree. But still ADs should maintain an iterative list of coaching replacements for each sport. montitor those lists and continuously update.

I have not seen anyone mention this, however I believe DW with totally change our leverage with the league office across all platforms. I think he gives instant regal credibility and will fight for UT instead of rolling over dead like everyone since Dickey. Hopefully he starts with the constant fouling cheap shots on John Fulkerson to get the refs back in line!

English needs to go out and prove himself. I think our profile is good enough to get an established coach. We have been relevant most of the last 15 years or so.

White said his decision begins and ends with the players. That’s how he ended up promoting Oats at Buffalo because of his interviews w the players. I think a lot will depend on what Barnes is able to accomplish between now and when he retires. Hard to say who we’d hire.

Tennessee will be a very desirable job for any head coach when Barnes leaves and White will be able to cherry pick from many candidates.
