Well, that means he is a great coach and person. And that's good.

But if he is not going to help them be successful in the new scheme, then he is not the best choice for them. And from what I've been told, it's a completely different blocking scheme.

I can understand a new coach wanting guys that already know his scheme, I just hope its the right move.

The one thing that was done well under Dooley... much better than under Fulmer and Kiffin going back to 2004... is OL recruiting.

Losing James and Thomas is offset by having guys who have been developing in the wings like Jackson, Crowder, Posey, and Kerbyson. Bullard is talented and versatile. Three years ago, UT's 5 best options to start on the OL included 4 freshmen. Now you have at least 8 quality OL's with 3 years of development and some SEC playing time.

I really do like Pittman but this is not as critical as Graham for sure.

makes sense and great recruiter...will more than likely have memphis area to recruit for UT since thats where he used to coach and he has ties to the central florida area

I'll trust a 44-year old head coach rather than the opinion of a 21-year old college player. But that's just me...

I hate it for Chaney , he is a great guy and Pittman I feel should be kept but I'm not the HC.

I think to begin with, it will be. It's most important right now to just have guys who can help make the transition as smooth as possible. He is big on continuity. You definitely don't want to hire anyone who is going to hinder the implementation of what you're trying to do.

I think bringing in his coaches in the coordinator spots is not a bad move. They know his terminology, his playbook, what he wants.

It's much better that he can say "These guys know what I want, now let me spend time with these coaches that don't." Frees him up a little bit to focus on other areas.

JMO.

I see James leaving for the NFL with Pittman out.

I hate to see Pittman leave and i hope we can keep James . We should do whatever we can to bring Tee back !! We will see what Coach Jones plans are very soon . If he can get Tee here that will say alot about his character and see if he has any insecurities . If he brings in some former vol greats as coaches that will go along way to showing me that he can turn this program around ! If he does not bring in some orange blood that will show me he is insecure !! :dunno:

sjt , I respect your opinion and your usually right on it !! But to say Dooley was better than fulmer at recruiting ol !! cmon man thats crazy . yea my login name would say im a homer , but i only logged in w/that bc of the crazy coaching rumors that were going on. i do think Fulmer should have stayed but this has no bearing on my feelings . I also liked Dooley ! I guess im probably only one of the few who thgt Dooley should have one more year . Dooley stopped the bleeding, look at the ol ,yes i think he did a good job there ! But not better than Fulmer .Dooley also kept the team off the headlines for the most part .

Good, if true (confirmed?). Hinshaw worked well w/ Bray and on the recruiting trail.

So Graham and Hinshaw atp?

Hinshaw at QB
Graham at RB
Martin at WR

That would be a great offensive skill positions staff. Not only would we be set as far as coaching is concerned, but that would be a great set of recruiters!
