I've got confidence in the Hitman. Early returns on Butch are good...what's his history of hires for basketball? I hate that our season went down like this but I feel that we are an attractive job basketball-wise. Did he hire Hamilton at FSU? I'll be interested to see what direction we go in.

Hart didn't hire Counzo , should have no problems handing him ye olde walking papers ! What BS.

I'm not gonna lie, this is a tougher decision than what people think it is. What if Pearl comes back, and makes more NCAA violations. the NCAA will hammer us for not learning our lesson.

then again what if we hire another dud, and pearl goes to Auburn, and does there what he did here.

I'm honestly glad its not my decision. because no matter what. Hart will get blaimed if it goes bad, and no credit if it works out.

I don't think Pearl has a long history of NCAA violations. I imagine he would be straight as an arrow if he returned.

maybe, maybe not, would you bet your job on it like what Hart is getting ready to do? thats why I said I'm glad I'm not making the choice

If he doesn't hire Bruce Pearl he will be the dumbest damndest athletic director in the country.

Its really a no brainer......

It's a no brainier decision. Wish I had Harts job. Call would have already been made to Pearl and contract would be getting drawn up. The " what if Pearl comes back and makes more violations" argument is stupid. Any coach could make violations, however, the NCAA is a bunch of *****cats now compared to when they hammered Pearl for having a BBQ and lying about it.

Your assuming the powers that be aren't STUPID. They ARE!!!!!!! Bruce has served his time on a minor violation. He was set up by the "powers" that are stupid. Look at how the "powers" handled the Trey Golden situation.

We are in competition with schools that all lie, cheat and steal in violations of all kinds of NCAA so called rules. Our competition's administrations FIGHT for their staffs. Look at what Miami, Bama, Auburn, the MO BB have gotten away with. There are many others who do things that never come to light because they are either "handled" internally all the way up to threatening to sue the NCAA (Miami) if they touch their programs.

Our competition stands up to the NCAA bullies, but our brilliant "powers" bend over and pick their noses when they are challenged.

If any of you holier than thou anti-Pearl "fans" have never told a lie to protect someone you love or yourself, I would like to see you raise your hand. If you raise your hand---then you are lying.

Disagree. Hart went for "A guy who doesn't care about UT" to that awesome guy who hired Butch Jones.. give it a chance.

No he can't! He is not willing to put out the money necessary to get a top notch coach at U.T. Only for the football program and not any other program.


Forget about it!!!!!!!!!

You can't be serious. Wake up Bruce had his chance at Tennessee. He will not be the basketball coach again at UT. And I think Hart will pick one but Cheek will have the last say so.
