Hey O-Line! As a group you lost 119.7 pounds of fat and gained 25.9 pounds of muscle this off season! #letsGetPaid #RiseToTheTop

Allison Maurer ‏@BigOrangeFuel
S/O to the D-Line...90.9 lbs of fat lost and 49.2 pounds of muscle gained. Ouch! #ThatMightHurt

Allison Maurer ‏@BigOrangeFuel
Where you at @bmoore3vfl? DB's at -21.3 pounds of fat and +45 pounds of muscle this off season. #speedAndPower

That comes out to an average loss per player of 5 pounds of fat and a gain of 3 pounds of muscle.

Did you know that the Knoxville zoo goes thru 120 pounds of bananas each week. UT athletes go thru 200 pounds of bananas. #fuelingMachines

That is incredible from a health standpoint! Wow. To lose that much fat, and still add muscle is amazing!!

We are going to be a well conditioned team this Fall! Recruits should get in on this as soon as possible!

So you're saying we could beat a team of zoo animals?

With the right proportion of carbs, fat and protein at the correct timing with varied work outs and proper rest, you'd be amazed at the changes your body can make in such short times.

I've worked out since I was 16 and only in the last 2 months have I really looked at such factors as macronutrient proportions and varied tempos of working out, I've lost about 10 lbs down to around 10% bf but gained in every lift enormously.

This sounds good.
but I have to quit getting excited over S&C coaches.
So far I have liked all of them with the exception of Long, and he had been here the longest

Cool stuff. I thought the last guy we had was good too but I feel like his plan was to much on just building bulk and the players got muscle bound and it slowed them down.

This. once you get a diet set up with proper proteins, carbs, fats, omega 3's, nutrient pills, shakes, whatever you use to get your nutrients from, its amazing what you can do.

You can get ripped just eating healthy. You can't get ripped trying to out work a bad diet though (unless you're one of those rare percentages that just have low BF naturally).

Yes but God bless, unless I'm a pro athlete and my profession dictated that I monitor my diet that way, there is no way in hell I could live my daily life devoting that much time and effort to monitoring what I put into my body. Not to that degree.

You are handed your pre-workout drink as you come in the door and are handed your protein shake on the way out. They burn so many calories lifting, conditioning, and practicing that closely monitoring everything they eat really isn't necessary.

Not as complicated as it sounds.

I just added up all the claims made about S&C over the last 5 years. Some of the redshirt seniors should now be at negative 23% body fat and are benching over a thousand pounds.

Percentages don't work that way, bruh. :)

If a ball fell off of a table, and could only cover 50% of the distance to the ground per second, theoretically, it could never reach the ground.

Soooo............ what do we feed them to energize those "Fast Twitch" Muscle fibers?

& How about some Brain Food for class and to not make STUPID decisions on (OR OFF) the field.(beer always seems to make me smarter)
And lots of carrots to give the RBs that field vision and for the QBs to read defenses.

I don't think it can be said enough how Dooley didn't take advantage of social media, in fact he actually stopped it's use almost completely. Kids these days live by it, and Butch is allowing everyone players, coaches, support staff get in the mix. The added hype and publicity is pretty amazing when you have a good social media strategy. Recruits will eat this stuff up.

In the pictures from practice yesterday on utsports.com, his head has a gash on it and his face is scraped up. Anyone know what happened to him?
