Actually we lived in Jasper when we first moved.David and his brother Daniel attended Jasper Elementary.People would not believe the fever for football in that valley area.

Hey Spiderman J,
Why didn't David play Friday night in the jamboree. I am from Sequatchie Co. and come down every year during playoffs to watch SP and just wondered if he was injured. The talk in the valley is that Tana Patrick blew his knee out and just hoping David wasn't injured too. Hope to see David in orange and white when he's done with the orange and black!!

Thanks so much for your concern.No he was well enough to play if needed.Coach Grider thought David needed a bit of rest.Tough week in camp,for all the players.Neck injury to 1 of the seniors may have prompted coach to sit David down for a rest.

Yes this kid is great and I attended Marion County HS years ago.

They played South Pittsburg the first game this year and he is unbelievable and a great kid. I wish David and South Pittsburg the best this year and if Vic and the coaches keep the kids focused, no one will touch them. I don't believe anyone in the Chatt area could beat this team.

Wow we feel so bad for coach and the team.Coach has been through many tough periods before.We are just hopeful that he keeps his head up .He has done wonders at Tenn. We also have faith in his ability to evaluate great talent.Go Vols!:good!:

Jones only got to carry the ball 3 times in his last game. It was his own fault though, 3 touches, 120 s0mething yards and 3 TDs. Wow!

I know David and his brother very well i played for South Pittsburg i was 3 yrs ahead of him South Pitt has more speed than anyone in Tenn in 1-A they really dnt have competetion they only stay in 1-A because of their enrollment. I remember watching Eddie Moore play at the Burg and won state was LB for TN. David has good speed and excellent vision, havent talked to him in awhile but when i did he was still comitted to Tennessee I told him thats where he better go jus jokin but i know it will be a SEC team hopefully tennessee recruits him hard want to see him in the Orange and White.

good chance for him to perform tonight, last week south pittsburg won 82-0, he did not get much time in that game, about 5 minutes. there playing a bigger and better team tonight, i still think the pirates will win like they did last year around 50-7 with david having another great game. i have seen him play many times, the fellow can play some serious football.

So far he has carried the ball 60 times, 9.4 yds a carry and has 14 TDs. according to the stats in the paper today.

He is a good running back but he is one heck of a linebacker.

In Knoxville, when you get hit and knocked backwards you know that it is Eric Berry that made the hit.

In South Pittsburg, when you get hit and knocked backwards you know that it is David Jones that made the hit.

David had a good night on Friday. He took a pounding but still ended up averaging over 5 yards per carry on 19 carries in a defensive struggle. I am not sure how many tackles he had in the game but he was all over the field.
He will get a chance to make highlights in the final 2 regular season games that the Pirates should win handily and then it is on to the playoffs.
spiderman j, good luck to him and good luck to his younger brother that I believe is playing in the Jr. high championship game tonight.

Just saw a sweet run on TV where Jones ran all over a DB. Laid him out, literaly, and then stepped over him to get into the endzone.
