David Pollack comments about the Tennessee Vols won't sit well with Kirby

Just to add some context, before we went to Athens as a #1 ranked team, the last #1 ranked team to play in Athens was Fla in 2009. UGA was an 8 win team that year. In 2022 we both were in the top 2 and they were the defending champs. That was the biggest home game in their schools history. It was going to be deafening regardless of what was said before the game. Same as it would be if we get a #1 vs #2 matchup in Knoxville.
Point Is that Ainge added unnecessary fuel to the fire. Why say that Sanford Stadium isn’t a loud place to play right before a huge game by his Alma mater? Giving the opponent (and their fans) bulletin board material is not smart.

I would bet u that half the people there had no idea what Ainge said. TBH with you Idk what he said. I live in Georgia and everyone I work with are Dawg fans. Trust me they were amped because it was #1 vs #2. I had to hear from them after the game and not 1 Dawg fan brought up Ainge after the game. I had a UGA booster tell me it was the loudest he had ever heard Samford because of the magnitude of the game. Gotta remember that their big matchups with Bama were all neutral sites.
Well 1/2 or more did know because it was brought up numerous times to me in Athens and at various tailgates. Ainge poked the bear needlessly. Heck there were a few signs around the stadium referencing those moronic comments.

"I think the thing about Tennessee is I think Tennessee's box is so elite defensively," said Pollack. "It reminds me of Georgia a couple of years ago. And it might not be the upper-echelon player, but the depth is better. So many guys along that defensive line that they're rotating in and they're not just space eaters. And they're not just big clotters. They're twitchy guys that penetrate, make plays -- it's like hockey shifts. And they rotate in. And I think we've seen, they've been shut out the last three games at the half, Tennessee's offense. And Tennessee's team, in every game, they're very much in it. And it's because they're so dang good on the defensive side of the football."

I doubt Kirby cares about Pollack saying those things

No, the point is Athens was always going to have a rowdy crowd that night because of the magnitude of that game. #1 v #2 matchups dont happen every year. Ainge wasn't playing. You think UGA went in saying "lets prove Eric Ainge wrong!!" Heck no lol. I can guarantee Kirby emphasized us being #1 coming into their house and them being the defending champs with no respect. That place was always going to be the loudest it had ever been on that day. And if some miracle happens and we're #1 &#2 in a couple weeks that game will be even louder because a loss would be devastating for both.

You see it your way but if you don’t think Ainge added fuel to the fire, you’re sadly mistaken or you’re related to him! Lol.
