David Spurlock ?

lol at New Coach calling Anderson a fat kid when 99.9% of offensive lineman are fat. The only non-fat lineman I know of is the beast known as Vlad

BTW NC, I love how you compare these guys based off of nothing. You haven't even seen Anderson play and know nothing about him. All you know is that Rivals rates Spurlock higher. I've seen Spurlock play in person, not just on a highlight video showing his best plays, and he wasn't that impressive.

I still find it strange that Spurlock said the UT coaches told him they had signed all the Lineman that they were going to and the scholarship offer was no longer on the table. It is obvious we are still recruiting OL. We worked hard trying to get Kenneth Page and now we are pursuing Antoine McClain.

This story just doesn't add up to me. Maybe they got more information about Spurlock after they first talked to him and decided he wasn't the caliber of player they once thought. Any ideas?

Recruiting is a game. If we act like we want him other teams automatically start recruiting him. (I'm sure it's happened to us too) Maybe wasting a scholly on him. Here's to leaving the recruiting to the professionals.

I belive it because I have been reading the guy's posts for years and more often than not he knows what he is talking about, unlike the pack of sunshine blowers who allow their man-lust for Fulmer to cloud reality.

I never said I liked Fulmer, but he really turned last season around after the Bama game. That was definitely his least talented team he's ever had and he won the East with it. That talent will get better and have more experience next year. He also went out and got new blood in the program. He turned it around last season and you can't deny that.

So if the Vols go 0-11, but then beat Kentucky it's a turnaround and we should all be happy? I just dont get it. In my opinion there is no turnaround after getting beat soundly by a 6-6 Pac10 team and getting completely waxed by your two biggest rivals.

UGA, UK, Wisconsin, the Arky team that drilled us the year before, and South Carolina. Not to mention if it wasn't for 2 bad throws in the SEC Championship game we would have been an a BCS bowl.

Look at the talent level Fulmer had this year compared to all of his other years at UT. This was definitely a good season.

To me, it was a good season but certainly not a great season. I agree with you that the talent wasn't the same this year, that will be evident in the draft coming up. However, I don't think Bama was better then us at all and had we won that game, it would have been a great season.

Foster averaged 8 ypc and we stop giving him the ball and let Coker run. (when the game was still by one score)

Thanks! I love playing this game. If not for a missed field goal by the Vols' opponents in the Vandy, Kentucky and SC games this would've been a 6-6 season (and that's assuming the wheels don't come off). I think the chances of those teams making a fg is better than UTK getting a win vs LSU so by my estimation this season was much more close to an unmitigated disaster than it was to a BCS-invite type season. Two or Three missed field goals saved Fulmer's job and doomed UTK football to several more years of medocrity, or worse.

This happens every year. It's only really come back to bite us once that way in '05. Tennessee is a very good team in close games. Fulmer's OT record doens't lie.

yeah we went 10-4 and you somehow distorted that into 6-6.
LIES LIES LIES! You sir need to turn from your lying ways. The post was about what-ifs, as referenced in the hypothetical about being 2 plays from winning the SECCG. Please refrain in the future from disparaging my posts with your filthy mistruths.

I don't most everyone on Riverdales football team even a coach that i know say he really isnt that good.He is just so much bigger than people at the HS level.

I don't know who you know, but I can assure you that any coach that he has played against would tell you different. Perhaps you have been listening to someone who maybe jealous.
