has nothing to do with religion. It's probably more about a low SQ score than anything. Guys repeatedly quoting Hitchens probably just don't score very high.ok....I guess that's clever. Never heard of the guy or the band though. It must be a conservative religious thing us dirty atheist liberals don't get.
exactly. Disdain for one view while wholeheartedly adopting the other is non-sensical to me. That's where I have been in this debate with Dio since it started. He views this as solely about disproving the Christian God, rather than dealing with the plank in his own eye.
If this were a majority Muslim board, I would have just as many enemies, if not more, because I would be pointing out the ridiculousness of the their beliefs, and the absurdity of the Qu'ran. Same for Hindus and Jews. I seriously doubt if I were on here making fun of Muhammed there would be as much animosity as I am getting.
This tells me you have not paid attention to anything I have said on this board and dismiss it like you understand what I am saying. What's more, you do it in the arrogant fashion you convict me of. My position in every single thread has been about the problem with believing in any God, not just the Christian one. Instead of allowing me to get under your skin so easily, you may have picked up on that already. This has nothing specifically to do with Christianity and never has. I love how you guys deride political correctness when it comes to politics, yet all one has to do is call God a fraud and the religious pick up pitchforks, torches, and mob mentality ready to burn the offender at the stake. Just like with everything else on this board, I'm stating what I think and I'm not sugarcoating it. I would think if anybody can respect that, then you would because you do the same thing with other topics.

Furthermore, I have readily admitted there are certain things we don't know. It's the arguments of the like in this thread that claim because we don't know, it is equally likely that God is the source of it all. There may be 100 different explainations that we can't even conceive of yet that are equally likely too. If you want to place everything on equal chances that God created everything because we simply don't know, then the chances decrease that it is specifically the Abrahamic God, and decrease again that it is the one explained by Christian, Muslim, or Judeo traditions.
Despite what you want to believe, I respect that you want to take the default position with what we don't know. I think it's wrong, and the alternative, while weak, is still stronger than what your proposing. And just like you do, I'm not going to be politically correct, or particularly sensitive to the feelings of those who disagree with me.
Seems to affirm what BPV said. Also, if you recognize that this board has a lot of Christians and you specifically select Christianity as a topic to criticize and demean, I'd say you fit the bill of a troll pretty well. Not a lot of difference between your behavior and the Bama morons that will sign up for Volnation in October.
Let's see. Shocking you are making anyone who believes in God to look like an uneducated farmer or what have you.
The stakes are much higher and much more personal when you call the God many on this board believe in a fraud. I'm shocked you are surprised people react the way they do when you belittle a being (God) or person (Jesus) that means so much to so many people.
It is obvious to most that you're hate for God has blinded you into interpreting even the most basic versus to fit your agenda.
You specifically stated you attack Christianity more specifically because of the high percentage of Christians on the board. What does that say about you?
I've said no such thing. Find that that statement for me, and I won't post in this thread again.
Don't flatter yourself. You aren't objective enough to be offensive. I view you similarly to joevol.

You said if this were a Muslim board you'd spend your time pointing out problems with Islamic beliefs. The implication is that since this board is largely Christian, as you've stated, you are focusing your efforts on dismissing that particular religion.
Furthermore, I would would be willing to bet I have read more of the Bible than you have ever thought about reading. I would be willing to bet even more that I have had more instruction on it, from both sides...the devout and the atheist. If reading the Bible, studying it, and then forming conclusions afterward is biased....but accepting it as truth on faith beforehand, then reading for confirmation is being objective...I'm guilty as charged.
Judging by the way you've decided to put words in my mouth and accuse me of saying something without basis in fact, it would probably be futile to debate this with you.
