Florida and Alabama are the two schools which seem to have the most momentum at this point, but to get Seaton to campus for an unofficial visit and keep the official visit for later in the process is the important part here. In talking to Seaton this week, he has related to Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel very well. The two talk frequently, and he values the Vols’ consistency in his recruiting process.
-VQHe is excited for the opportunity to take in a game day atmosphere, and it is one that should allow for the Vols to make a strong showing. However, Seaton is mostly intrigued to learn more about Tennessee's offensive line and will pay close attention to how the offensive tackles play in space and what their pass protection sets look like during the game. If Tennessee can get Seaton back for an official visit, they will have a real shot, in our opinion.
It's certainly a swing for the fences but his interest in legit and he's not just visiting to visit. Picked a good weekend to visit, so we'll see coming out of that. Outside of Alabama, his recruitment has had a lot of movementDo we actually have a chance at this guy? I know he's visiting, but I'm not getting my hopes up.
Who's going to roll it out? Coaches are busy. Players are busy. And... you have other important recruits on officials. Gameday unofficials are on the fans. That's who has to really show him some love and attention and not do things like "boo" our own players.Yes a red carpet. An unofficial red carpet for the whole visit.
Remember who we’re competing with for his service? Nuff said
-Matt RayWill have a full story in just a bit, but Tennessee had a strong showing with the elite prospect tonight. He enjoyed the atmosphere but was even more impressed with the play of the offensive line, specifically John Campbell. He has not locked in an official date yet, but it feels certain that is coming soon. Boo Carter spent a lot of time with him and those two have really hit it off.
“I thought the game was electric and energizing,” Seaton told Volquest. “It put a good first step for the Vols to see them come out with this dominating win over the Gamecocks. This was definitely an eye-opener. Up front, they were impressive.” “People were telling me this was going to be one of the more elite games I have been to,” Seaton said. “It stood up. It was electrifying. I don’t think I have been to a game this loud in my life, so that was definitely a plus. I like to play in front of a good crowd.”
“John Campbell, No.74, he is a guy,” Seaton said of what stood out about the play of the offensive line. “If you don’t know that he is a guy, then you don’t know anything about football. He was dominating at Miami, but to show it on this level at the SEC is different. That shows that Coach Elarbee knows his stuff. Spending more time with him and coach Heupel lately, they know football, they breathe football and they live football. So I would like to play for a coach like that.”
“Coach Heupel almost ate breakfast, lunch, and dinner with me, and that time was very good for us,” Seaton said of the time spent with Heupel. “He is not going to tell me the things I want to hear. When I came here, we went over my film and things I could do better. There wasn’t a lot of mistakes because he calls me one of the best athletes he has ever seen coming out of high school, so as far as technique wise, I can always get better. He was just pointing out the little things that can make my game even more dominate. I like that because he is not a yes man.
“I really like everything about Tennessee,” Seaton added. “The visit was amazing. The expectations were set high but it was everything I thought it would be plus more.” “Honestly, when I look back at everything and review it, if I feel like I want to come back for a game environment, I will, but I would like to spend more time with the coaches,” the elite prospect said. “Just because we spent a lot of time but you can never spend too much time.”
-VQThe Tennessee coaches are not the only one recruiting the five-star talent, as he has hit it off with four-star Vol commit Boo Carter. The two spent a lot of time together on Saturday and Seaton enjoys the pitch from Carter. “Boo Carter is my guy,” Seaton said of. “He keeps it real and is a real guy. He says he needs me and this program needs me. Like what coach Elarbee did with Darnell Wright, he was another five-star prospect, so seeing his yearly development is good. If he gets another five-star prospect like me, then maybe I can be round one, pick one, because he was round one pick ten.”
