'24 DC OT Jordan Seaton (Future Portal Entry)

Maybe a little bit of BVS here, but I’m curious what their side says. I want this kid, but it’s been a weird cycle and we’ve swing and missed a few times with this caliber player. Cautiously optimistic

Got it:

Jordan Seaton has announced his plans to commit on December 7. The five-star lineman is coming off an OV to Ohio State. A few schools such as Oregon and UF appear on the outside. Alabama has been in communication as of late Monday night. Ohio State side seems to have some confidence, and Tennessee also believes in top contention.

We're still digging here, but as Tim and I have noted- if it's a massive NIL deal we don't expect the choice as Alabama. That’s may not the case- so we are talking to as many people, on all sides, for a better feel on the decision.

Seaton is in California today. He did not return to IMG after the weekend. So that's why Wolf did not see him on Monday while in Tampa visiting Alabama commitment Joseph Ionata.

And from the OSU site:

From the OSU side, the thought is that a decision on Thursday will likely be in favor of the Scarlet and Gray, Alabama, or Tennessee, but one interesting thing I heard from a source is that they wouldn’t be surprised if Seaton pledged somewhere this week, but signed somewhere else whenever he submits his letter of intent. Seaton has been very impressionable throughout the process, and that combined with the fact that NIL is definitely a factor in this recruitment are what is behind that scenario.
"Alabama is taking a very similar approach to NIL as Ohio State is, and while their package will be competitive, they are not willing to shake up things inside their building by guaranteeing Seaton what other schools might be."

More from Bama site:
-Alabama has been in contact with Seaton's camp today. Has not informed them it's another school.

Bama out ahead in letting themselves down easy here.

I’ve always hated the style in which Bama writers write. Just oozing with self righteous superiority. I’m not sure if that’s because they themselves are idiot fans or just aware that they serve idiot fans.

It's the culture of their program, everything around it, and everyone covering it. Why would you not behave and speak like the entire conference and sport isn't about you? The conference and committee just told us this week that it's the Bama show and we're all players in their adventure.

Sounds like we really won't know until Dec 20th no matter what happens on Thursday?

Need some older guys/gals to help me out. I’m thinking it was 1993-94 it was called black Monday. We lost like 5-6 big time players all flipping on the tonight before National signing day.
After that I can pretty much take anything and expect anything about recruiting🧡
I don't remember the year or players, but I will never forget like the world collapsed on the Volunteers that day.

I’m going with superiority. To be fair they are the top of the Bama food chain, they can read and write.
