'20 DC WR Rakim Jarrett (Maryland signee)

Tennessee is seriously in the mix to flip 5-star wideout Rakim Jarrett. The DC native loves Tee Martin, knows he can see the field on Day 1 here with four seniors graduating and is friends with quarterback commit Harrison Bailey, who texts him daily.

Feel like this is a huge selling point.

We lose Jauan Jennings and Marquez Calloway after this season. Outside possibility that we could lose Josh Palmer, as well. The WR competition in 2020 is wide open. We should have an arsenal of QBs on the roster by then (JG, Maurer, Bailey, Shrout, maybe King) and our O-line problems will hopefully be fixed. It's a very good situation to walk into for a blue chip Freshman WR.

Prior to five-star receiver Rakim Jarrettcommitting to LSU in April, I logged a 247Sports Crystal Ball forecast in favor of Tennessee. A couple months later, I don’t hate my prediction. Not expecting anything imminent, just believe things continue to be positive between the Vols and the blue-chipper out of Washington (DC) St. John’s. The 6-foot, 208-pound Jarrett is one of the top receivers in the country after the catch, a fast, physical runner with the ability to take any reception the distance. He is the No. 3 prospect in the country at his position

Maryland. Yea ok. I believe that like o boy committing to the Kroger Kats. This is a lot like the Bogle deal seems like. He’s still a take take all day, but I’m expecting to wait, all day.

Jarrett wants to be the man at WR wherever he goes. I don’t think he was aware so many highly rated wrs were being brought in by LSU. I think Tennessee probably gives him the best opportunity to be a spotlight WR on the national stage in college. I don’t see that happening at Miss State or Maryland.

he knew exactly who was at lsu. they were pushing him playing with burton.

Idk at all but my amateur guess:
The new wore off and he was missing the process. And just those second thoughts that come with any life altering decision.

It sounds like he jumped in because his mom was into LSU but I think you’re prob right; He did look legitimately excited in the photos of when he told Coach O he was in. But I think he likes the process, like you said.
