This happens with all races. And respecting mom is a good thing.Doesn't make him a mama's boy. Young black men (that respect their mom's) hold their mother's opinion in very high regard. Especially if they are from a single parent home. Mom has to approve of who she is trusting her son with for 3 to 4 years.
-Brian DohnFolks,
Did some checking on receiver commit Rakim Jarrett, who said he will make fall official visits and was told there is one very important thing to keep in mind in his recruitment ...if his mom is not on a visit, it is virtually a deal breaker. He will not make a move unless she is comfortable and 100 percent set on the trip.
Mississippi State, Tennessee and Maryland are the visits he is eyeing but also keep an eye on Ohio State. I keep hearing his mom really likes the Buckeyes.

Not saying it's ONLY a black thing. Not trying to have a debate if someone was offended. If someone took it as "only black men love and respect their mothers", then that sounds like a personal issue. Someone referred to him as a mama's boy and I was offering some insight as to why that might not necessarily be the case.Wait...soooo being close to one's Momma is a black thing? as is being from a single parent home? i think i get what you're saying, might wanna check that delivery.
