I could not be more thrilled about how this defensive unit has come to play. If they hold up through the season this could be a huge year.

I love it... Speed killed us last year and these guys have put in the work and it looks to be paying off.... Hope it spills into sec play and we can win some big ones with a solid defense.... And how about Worley looking so poised I the pocket hitting his check down guys so well... So pleased with team 118 thus far... Keep it up and go vols!!!!!

DT Jordan Williams hasn't played since 1st Quarter when he pulled up - looked like knee. UGHH

This. I was very impressed tonight and the D played lights out, but this was not an sec caliber team. Let's wait till OU to crown them speedsters. Outside of the slow start on offense I was very proud of team 118. Maybe this will shut some of these analyst up. They will proly just go with "USU is not the team they were last year" though. Awesome way to kick off the season. I'm still gonna say 7-5 on the year. GBO

I haven't seen our defensive players come out with this much energy and passion on a consistent basis in YEARS!! They swarmed to the ball. It was a joy to watch. The future is bright!

Defense thread should stay up top for at least a day. D showed up and showed out.

The D was very strong! So much better than the past few years! The guys hustled to the ball and made the big plays! AJ Johnson is a beast! I hope we can do this well against conference teams.

I haven't been so proud of a Vol defense in ages!
Excellent job defense
