It may be as simple that he got along better with the Discovery Channel producer in the wheelhouse than the other captains. He certainly seemed more comfortable, etc... Then again, that may just be him as I never met him. We only see what they choose to edit, of course.

I can see that. When they start focusing on the drama instead of the weather or mechanical failures, etc... I certainly do begin to lose interest. I had hoped that they would have had more to show per the monster storm that hit but that storm was so large that no boat could be out in it -- well, I take that back, they could be out in it, but not for long.
