had the majority been the rule in this nation, women would still be begging to vote and schools would be segregated.

true, but when you rule by what you think is right rather than what the populace wants you get presidents like obama and bush. there needs to be something in the middle.

remember, its the presidents call to make the decision to what is best for the country, not what the mass mob demands,

i'm fine to do that when it comes to things like national security and civil rights, but when it comes to screwing with things that this country was built on, like capitalism and freedom, that is where i draw the line.

my point is that we elected a guy that basically said he would do whatever for whatever group of people, now that hes in office, its time for him to take off the campaign mentality and step up to the plate and be president

The President isn't supposed to be all powerful in any arena. We are supposed to have individual liberties that can not be infringed upon. That's the problem, is one side of the political spectrum is willing to make concessions on liberty for x, and the other side of the spectrum is willing to make concessions on y. There should be NO concessions of liberty.

You're whining that even though BO won the majority vote, it doesn't count as being representative of the majority of Americans.

GWB couldn't even win the majority vote, does that mean the majority of Americans wanted him as Pres. but couldn't be assed to make it to the polls? Good thing they had the Electoral Vote to fall back on.

I'm sure the Republicans weren't bitching and moaning when their guy got in huh? Too bad the Electoral Vote didn't bail them out this time.

Last I checked, BO still had over a 50% approval rating as well, so your whining over what the "majority of Americans" want, comes across as just that, whining.

Hey, I am with you. We are explicitly given the right to bear arms in the constitution.

We are not given the right to nationally funded health care. Heck, the government has no authority to incur a "national debt" either.

That's cool. Is it a good thing I didn't hear that sound?

Loving the wrong assumptions being thrown around. :eek:lol:

Ralph Nader would have destroyed the economy before reaching his 100th day, so it's a good thing your vote was wasted.
