Dear Mr. Hart,

To be fair, Wichita is a good program and people love basketball in Kansas. Would be hard to leave

If he was this great coach that people are claiming, he wouldn't be at a school that has made the tourney 3 times in the past 25 years. Not saying that Wichita isn't a nice school or that Marshall isn't a quality coach. Just saying, that he is the "it" coach created by the NCAA tourney last year.

WSU coach is more proven than the coach at Florida Gulf Coast and yet he got a job at USC and Marshall didn't even get a call. That tells me something too.

Just like the gulf coast guy. He doesn't seem that great at USCw

Where do you get your info?

Marshall has TURNED down many BCS jobs including NC State. He's paid like a BCS coach ($1.7 million), has private jets for recruiting, great facilities and 10,5000 fans every game.

College basketball is devoid of a great team - ESPN

He interviewed for the Tennessee job after buzz was fired, Tennessee passed. He pretty much begged for an interview and the job after Pearl was fired and was passed again.

Iirc he also was lobbying pretty hard for the South Carolina job when Darren Horn was fired, and was passed up for that job as well.

Marshall's a bit of an odd personality, which has hurt him in regards to getting a big time job. However, he's a fantastic coach and some big time program will get themselves a hell of a coach someday.

That's funny.
did you see what he inherited?
He'll do fine.

I watched their games in BoA. They didn't seem to be very disciplined. Plus I don't like hiring shooting star coaches. I think he will fizzle out.

How do you guys have all of this info that he "begged" for interviews etc?

If you know Marshall at all, there is no possible way he begs for anything.

He was contacted about the USC and UCLA and declined to interview. As I stated he flatly turned down NC State.

WSU is a great job. Yes, WSU's only been to three tourneys in 25 years. Or you could say they've been to three tournaments in the last eight years with an NIT championship. WSU will definitely make the tournament again this year and is poised for a long term run.

Why is it so hard to believe (for some of you) that WSU is a good enough job to attract and hold a high quality coach? The WSU job is a better one than many, many BCS jobs.

FWIW, Turgeon had major regrets after leaving WSU for Texas A&M.

I can tell you 100% that Marshall interviewed and was passed on for the UT job when Buzz was fired, and was trying to get the job when Pearl was fired, but was passed on again.

Tim Floyd? Geeze that guy can coach. Fellas you are all missing the point...instead of bashing the guys we didn't get for whatever reason you need to worry about the situation now...it is called rationalization...and its not healthy.

No coach, Andy Enfeld. Floyd at UTEP

What this guy said...Tennessee couldn't beg this guy to coach here now...much like Mark Few at Gonzaga and Chris Peterson in football....you gonna say WE turned Peterson down...LMAO! I am afraid Cunzo is the best we are going to get...even the Gamechickens got Frank Martin...one hellacious coach.

Nobody said he would come here now, we don't have a vacancy so kind of a moot point.

He has begged to come to UT twice in the last 10 years though, and both times Tennessee passed on him for a different choice.

So yes, if Tennessee wanted Greg Marshall as it's coach he would be our coach, but he's not.

Not now he wouldn't...

Ok...he needs to get out of that elementary school Purdue offense...defense is fine although they at times do a rotten job of hedge and recover...they give up too many easy looks from the 3 point line...rotation is at times bad...and above all I would love to see him utilize his quickness on the perimeter...more open looks for Barton...

This post is a prime example that you don't know what the F you are talking about...dogging the offense, saying it's the issue, yet giving credit to the defense, you could not be anymore incorrect.

Our offense is one of the most efficient offenses in the country this year, our offense has been great. Our defense on the flip side has been equally as bad as our offense has been good, that's where we've struggled.

Ok sonnyboy...prove me wrong...show me how our offense is one of the most "efficient" in the country. I like our defensive scheme....

Prove you wrong, ok...

Offensive efficiency ranks 17th in the country
Defensive efficiency ranks 140th in the country

Surely a seasoned coach like yourself can understand these numbers, right?
