Congratulations :hi:
I did not vote for the man, but I pray he does the American People proud.
United behind a guy that made his platform class warfare? No, thanks.Though voting for Obama, after watching McCains speach, I have a new found respect for him. He is right on so many levels, including that no matter Republican or Democrat, we need to stand united. We are one country, the greatest country on Earth, not two parties.

Thank God McCain never resorted to that. It would have been so easy for him to scare people about tax increases, misuse the term "socialism," make out of context quotes about redistribution of wealth, and pimp Joe the non-licensed plumber. But he kept it on the straight and narrow.
I didn't realize Obama saying he wanted to "spread the wealth" could out of context. Pray tell what "context" he meant then.
The "redistribute" sentence was more about fairness in tax policy and giving a break to someone other than the wealthy for a change, and nothing to do with Marxist ideologies that some would like to imply.

Not true. He specifically stated he wants to increase taxes on the rich and use that money to directly give money to people that aren't paying taxes.
dsbyrd i just wanted to get your thoughts on the tax breaks for people who have kids. now that it's going to be thrown out the window, how is obama going to give tax breaks to make up for that?
