To the extent there ever was a honeymoon .... it just ended.
Yep, there never was going to be a "let's settle down, it's year 1... wait 'til he gets his guys" scenario at Alabama after Saban. If DeBoer didn't get a reality check after Vandy, it's definitely coming his way this week.

He's a good coach. So is ours. Neither are Saban. And that's the difference. Nobody has a Saban anymore.

Even Saban was going to have a hard time staying Saban and he has admitted as much. He just could not reach young people like he used to and I think he saw the writing on the wall.

What Saban did was phenomenal and is not what normal CFB programs do. Part of the reason that Tennessee is being trolled about 1998 forever by Uncle Lou is Saban because the guy just kept the other SEC programs down other than Georgia starting in 2017. Pretty much most of the SEC and even CFB hasn't done jack since Saban was at Alabama but now the door is open again.

Prior to his arrival this year, I think DeBour thought Saban only won big because of recruiting. So he concluded he could come rolling into Bama with Saban’s players and keep it going. Reality is probably setting in right about now

I think he got a hard dose of reality tonight! ROFLMAO

This week will be very rough for him with the fanbase. I bet he has no idea what he's gotten into!

GO VOLS!

The right coast produces Champions. The Left coast? Marshmallow teams. Looks like DeBoer is going to be a DeSmores before the end of the season.

Bama fans need to relax. Saban isn’t there anymore and you’re not gonna be great every year. They are not entitled to great seasons.
Agreed. And to be fair, Deboer doesn’t have his guys to run his system. I actually think he is a better coach than some think. He walked into an impossible situation. Bama fans expecting Saban 2.0 are insane.

And I will laugh uncontrollably. Because he will fail and blame the school. I still believe someone will give him a chance in the league.
Somebody's definitely going to give him a chance. Let's be honest. Right now the coaching world is looking pretty thin. There are no urban Myers or Nick saban's on the market looking for a job. There's nobody in college football short of Kirby who's shown any level of domination.

The only thing Deboer will figure out is, he didn't pay the Refs enough to turn a blind eye like Saban did
It was interesting that some of the calls that seemed to go our way in this game in decades past always seemed to go Gump's way. I have no doubt that Pearce would have been flagged for offsides and that they would have offset the Boo/King thing.

I want to see Gump humbled and humiliated for a few years.

How long before Kirby is burned out though? Same can be said for Huepel. I just have a hard time believing Kiffin doesn’t take them back years and years with his antics

Yeah DeBoer had huge stones taking that job. It is probably one of the few that you are on the hot seat before you ever move into your office.

Better be looking for some “for sale” signs in his yard.
Someone may confirm this but years before the internet was born, rumor went around that a U-Haul truck was dispatched to then Vols head Coach Bill Battle's house after some bad games. That's got to send a message to wake up and see a U-Haul out front

You're not wrong, but Alabama would make a deal with the devil to return to their former place of glory. Even if it means burning down the whole program.
