Debord offense better in Big 10?

I think Indianas QB is similar to what you are going to see with Dormady. He's a pocket guy. Throws a beautiful pass, but gets the pass out quick. And you can see Ohio state has arguably the best Dline in the nation along with Clemson and Alabama, but they just don't have enough time to get to him. He holds the ball for like 1 second and pops a pass out. That makes an Oline look great.

I think we will see a lot of that this year with Dormady.

Here's what I saw last night in Indiana's surprisingly powerful first half against Ohio State (I only saw the first half):

IU's offense looked a lot like our offense in 2015 and 2016. A lot. Same no-huddle, same spread, same look and feel everywhere. Two big differences were, (1) Vols had a decent run game those years, which IU was totally missing last night, and (2) IU's QB was very good at hitting the middle-distance throws with consistent accuracy and touch, which Josh (God love him) just wasn't consistent at.

So same offense, same look and feel, differences came mainly from player abilities: we had Dobbs and Hurd and Kamara and Kelly running, they had no one much...on the other hand, they had Legow throwing, we had Dobbs.

Otherwise, I think you saw Mike DeBord being the same OC in both places. He was simply adjusting his play calling to make the most of the strengths of his players.

Agreed. I love Josh but if he had the touch and accuracy the IU's QB had last night while Debord was here we would have broke a ton of NCAA offensive records, not just Vol records.

Without the accuracy our offense and Debord was predictable.

People who get on DeBord crack me up. Tennessee had the number 1 scoring offense in the SEC last year. Before you go look it up Alabama scored more point but that was because of Defensive and Special Team points. Last years problem was not the offense.

Yes sir. Offense wasn't the problem. He's a good OC.

Predictable but the best we have had since Clausen. It was a good offense that put a ton of points up.
