I agree with this statement but I would add that the the last regular season poll is pretty critical as well

LSU and Clemson have no business being anywhere near the top ten. Hell, Clemson doesn’t even look like a top 25 team. The Vols should be 8th or 9th.

Why we so worried about the polls after week 1? It will work itself out as the year goes. Look at last year , TN had it in their hands, and Rattler single handed whooped them. I’d worry about the games ahead and not rankings .

I’m not concerned about rankings yet. I just wish I knew how good/bad Virginia is. They are not a good team ,so it is hard to use them as much of a measuring stick. We have plenty of opportunities to climb up the polls if we are good.

We’ll have to see. LSU would have to fall 6-7 spots for losing to another top 10 team; that’d be a pretty huge drop in that scenario. That might happen, but again that’s a big drop for a top 5 losing to top 10 situation.

At the worst, UT will definitely move up to 11th.

If LSU lost by a point or two, I could see them only dropping a spot or two. They looked awful, lost by a significant margin. They should fall out of the top ten.
