I'd say the 04 Florida game had to register up there pretty high. I was in the upper deck and literally fell through the stands for about 5 minutes they were shaking so much.
Remember that game well.....I was watching on TV and the camera's were vibrating so bad on the upper deck that they couldnt use them to show the game.
Good evening friends, family, members, and distinguished guests,
During the Oregon/Oregon State broadcast, the scrumptious Erin Andrews showed the decibel level at Autzen to be 101 with a peak of 106 after Oregon scored the touchdown. This, of course, stoked my curiosity. I was wondering if anyone knows approximately what Neyland stadium hits on the decibel level. Thank you for your time.

i know for a fact that at the south carolina game i believe or auburn they had a decibel meter show up on the jumbotron with a reading from 96-100 decibels. so our stadium would crush oregon's decibel record. it had a hand and arm holding it up possibly while down on the field. there was only 95,000 at the usc game.
With the right equipment and some good planning, Tennessee could set up a "noise meter" and use it to fire up the crowd. They could show a "Today's Loudest", "Loudest This Year", and a "Loudest of all time" thermometer-esque display to sort of help push the crowd along. Then beyond that, maybe set up several volume meters for each section and/or side and develop some software to show a visual display of how loud that side is compared to others. With this you could then have section battles and stuff like that. Just a thought, I have no idea how any of that stuff works. It may be a terrible idea which is why we haven't done it yet.i think we can get neyland stadium to break the 137 db mark set by the seattle seahawks which is the world record. Florida game next season.
