I used to use Wolman's raincoat but last year couldn't find it anywhere around Nashville.

Easiest way to stain a deck is to spray with a cheap pump up bug sprayer then back roll with a paint roller to even it out. Spray the pickets and handrail first. A typical 12 18 deck should take about an hour for 1 man.

You are flying if you sprayed and back rolled a deck in one hour. It would take that long to do just the spindles and get proper/even coverage on a normal sized deck.

Thanks, we have a LARGE deck which I stain every two years and just getting a little tired of doing it or like last year, paying to have it done. I was looking at alternatives for next year.

I did our deck 2 years ago with Deck Restore. It has held up extremely well. It looks as good as it did when we put it on. I would highly recommend it.
You will need to purchase the Restore Paint Rollers to apply. It is very thick, gritty paint. Unlike painting, you only roll it in one direction, goes on very thick.
Good luck whatever way you decide to go.

Been doing carpentry for a living for 22 years. May take an inexperienced person a Lil longer. Lol. Didn't think about that. It's 100 degrees here today and the coolest day in the next 10 days is 97 degrees. It would take much longer today and be difficult to keep sweat from leaving spots on the deck. Not a good time to try guys. Wait til fall and have more time to back roll before it flash dries on you and leaves an uneven coat.

Where you live Marcus? I'm in Dickson , outside of Nashville.

Montgomery Bell is one of our favorite Tennessee State Parks. We hadn't been there in several years.

It's a good one. We stop in and let the kids run the creeks a few times a month. I live on the other side of town (West side) away from MBSP.

Dang. We could make some money together!

Thanks for thinking of me friend . When work wad so slow I did a big room addition in ktown to stay busy.only used a cousin at 100 bucks a day and didn't sub anything but the shingles on the roof...because the homeowner wanted it warrantied from the same roofer that did the existing house.i dug the footings ...laid all the brick..framed..wired..drywall trim paint ...The whole 9 yards. Took me 3 months but I made good money and she was well pleased. I was amazed at how few inspections I had to get in ktown. In charlotte they check every phase as its completed. Pain in the butt.

You stain it? I do a light pressure wash and then put just soak it in Thompson's three times. I have to do it about once every 3-4 yrs.

Yeah, until last year I always used Wolmans Raincoat (best product I ever used) and probably could have gotten 3-4 years between applications but that deck cost me a bunch of $$$. Rather maintain than replace.
