Recruiting is finally something to look forward to again. But with that said, I've noticed a few good ones have dropped us. Who all is out?

I'm not to concerned with the decommits. I think Pruitt and staff will find us upgrades in some areas. Taylor, Mays and Dean I want us to get back on board for sure.

Quite often current commits (to Butch) are not sought after by the incoming Staff so they advise them to de-commit to save face. Pruitt will get "Most" of the guys he wants. Just hope Mays signs early as that will pull a few other good recruits our way. He is definitely the Big Fish this month. Hopefully Phil can help. He was pretty good at bringing in the Beef.

Wow! 13 have decommitted. Provided that they have not committed to another school, we can still get back in their good graces...
The 25 day search for a new coach killed this years recruiting.

It may be a little telling when we see who he really goes after and the ones he doesn't pursue. I would think he will see talent and character differently than the previous coach (I have chosen to never use his name again).

Wow's ass. After all that went down, we are damn lucky so many stuck with us. Had the process been cleaner, it might have saved a few. These guys are going to have to bust it to find some guys late, but it probably won't be a stellar haul. As to getting back in good graces, I ain't holding my breath. Not even for Mays. But you never know; wait and see.

Jones was an above average recruiter. His first two classes were mostly peer led by legacy recruits

You all assume the new staff will want all those same players. What if they don't?

Some de-committed after Jones was fired. One de-committed in the middle of the coaching search mess.

Like it or not players commit to the coaches not the school.

If the new staff still wants these players, they will reach out to them. If they don't, they won't.

by de committing though, its like they only wanted to play for him and could care less about the facilities etc -- Did Mays really think Jones would bring a NC ?

Exactly. The players liked either Jones or a coach on the staff.

When it became apparent that the staff might not be the one they would play for - of course those that saw other options decided to look elsewhere.

1. There was no guarantee they would like the new staff.
2. There was no guarantee that the new staff would like them or honor the offer.

Sometimes you all complain too much. With all the negativity and fire the coach every week this was to be expected.
