Decommits

What is Pruitt doesn't want any of them? Will you be upset?

It seems like you're reading into my question something that isn't there. I was looking for information on which of the decommits the new staff will likely go after and what the chances are of getting them back.

I bet most of those guys don't fit Pruitt's profile for SEC recruits, Based on the guys he's already offered, I'd have to say he only tries to get back in on 4 or 5 of our decommits.

Wouldn't be surprised to see y'all get Horn back if Pruitt puts forth the effort. I had the feeling that he decommitted because of Butch's inadequacy, not because he felt there is a better place for him than UT. He's flirting with us but there is little indication that we are suddenly his big love.

Look at this list. About four or five good prospects and it looks like we got one back. We should be able to improve upon what we had. Some of these guys are not what we should have been settling for.

This staff may not honor some of the commitments from the past staff. Some may not even get a call from the new staff. If that's the case, they better start looking for plan B. CJP has already began to offer other kids and these will only increase. I don't think he's worried about Cade. He's offering "immediate help" schollies to get that OL some depth.

At this point you know as much as the rest of us. Pruitt is trying to fill a class and round out a coaching staff and his support staff all at the same time. That makes it hard for a recruit to know what he is getting. The good thing is he has his own data on every player in the country and knows who he wants and who he doesn't. But none of us can read his mind.

Main thing right now is to get the early enrollees he wants locked down before the early signing day. The rest will wait until February. But for now, the coaches we have will be running the roads and accelerating global warming to bring us a fresh crop of players. The most obvious needs are OL and WR. Some good LB would be nice too.

But don't go looking for a "great class". You get those working for two years, not in two weeks or months.

Don't trust your feelings.

Horn stayed on well after Butch got fired. But he jumped the day the Schiano fiasco blew up. Just guessing, but that was probably viewed more negatively where he lives than many of our locals see it.

I would love to get him back, but I think it will take a lot to recover him. Plus I am pretty sure he is a EE, so unless Pruitt is already talking to him? I don't like our chances here. It was another player who is no longer committed to us who helped sway him.

I believe the only way we get him is if Pruitt decides to hire Bryan McClendon away from SC. He is listed as Horn's SC recruiter by 247. Even then, it might be iffy.

Outside of Taylor and maybe Dean and Horn I can definitely see him not pursuing any of the others. Pruitt and this staff opens up a whole different set and level of recruits.

I'll be curious who outside of Taylor that Pruitt even wants or tries to get back. I'm Guessing maybe Dean, Harris(TN) and possibly Horn but who knows where any of those guys lands on Pruitt's list. We have already seen a ton of new names pop up and most are on a different level than most of our decommits.

Well the Harris from Chattanooga is committed to Vanderbilt. So, he is the last one I expect to get back. Hate it too because he is a good player. I liked what I saw of all three, but I would rather Pruitt get players that pass his standard rather than trying to recover guys who have promises from coaches no longer here in their heads. Hopefully he can plug in some better players still available.

Agreed. Taylor is by far the best and more important one. Him and Mays and don't like our chances with Mays anymore. Pruitt will and already is upgrading our offers and will land some of them. He and his staff are getting us in on guys we wouldn't have had a chance at under Butch and his staff. Gonna be a fun lmonth and few months of recruiting to watch.

News from last night is that he won't sign until February and UT is back in his top 5

its what happens when you sell a bill of goods. Sales 101. I'm in sales, and, always underprimise and overdeliver. People are less likley to 'like' you up front, but are more satisfied and more likely to do business with someone they trust.

CJP is looking these kids in the eye and being honest. Not everyone can hack that, they want to feel like kings of the world. Honesty is always the best policy.
