Poor Middleton will just never learn not to throw the ball in to Russell unless no defender is within 20 ft of her. otherwise, Russell will fumble the ball, drop it out of bounds or pass it back over the backcourt line.

It's about recruiting...did you see the size and talent of those ND girls...we just couldn't match up...see UConn...and other teams...we gotta get bigger bodies with talent and speed...it is what it is...good luck Holly...:cray::clapping:

GO LADY VOLS!

Thing is, if we do luck out and get those bigger bodies, Holly wouldn't know what to do with them, period. Doesn't matter the talent of the young women coming out of high school, Holly doesn't know how to coach them or to motivate them. She just stands on the sidelines and shrugs or her favorite, throw her hands up in frustration.

Holly's mindset is too perfect. She wants to play the perfect game with the perfect execution. In the meantime what I think is really talented team looks lost. It has now evolved to the fact that I won't bother watching the lady vols only because I hate to see a team being hindered by their own coach! Time to go Holly!! Step down and go on. You are over your head.

I have gotten so I watch the first quarter and turn the game off. They throw more passes to no-one than any team I have ever seen. I don't understand why they work so hard to try to get the ball inside and g\the bigs don't even look for a shot bur throw the ball back outside. . They are so programmed to do that the defense intercepts the pass has has a layup. I just don't think the offensive scheme is very good and is a turn over machine.

Never!! It's up to the coaches to recruit, game plan, manage the game and get the most of their players.

I tune in sometimes to the last half of the second half. If it's like tonight--forget it. I watch old Seinfeld re-runs or something.

I think Tyler is 8 and 8 or something like that. As long as Mickey is coming too, I say go ahead and make the tough call.

Too much talent going to waste--no talent on the way...

Tyler is NOT the answer. Cheek will allow his AD to pick some scrub coach in waiting (e.g., Tyler) and we'll be no better off than we are now. This is a throw away season. Fire HW now to signal to the fans that someone in the administration cares and steal a proven coach (Mitchell?) in the off- season.

Been time to go for a long while now !!!! In my opinion this program will have to hit rock bottom before she is let go. She is just a part of the good ole gal network.

Well, at this rate it won't be long. Harder to rebuild a program from the bottom; cut the losses now and get a proven coach.

and what college would want to hire Holly (aka Fulmer)?

LOL, that's the best question asked all night, fire her mid season with the highest winning percentage in the SEC, see where she goes and see what Mr. Hart delivers.

It's almost double dog dare time. :)

Anyone want to take bets on whether we win the SEC? I'm taking all bets.

What does that have to do with the NCAA Tournament?

We've won or shared a part of the SEC regular season or SEC tournament 3 years running. No one seems to care about it or give the coach or team any credit for it...it only seems to be a factor now, why is that?

Diamond was brilliant at North Carolina. I made the comment more than once that I would like to see a player of her caliber at Tennessee. Tonight (and really sorry to say this about a 20 year old girl) she looked like a pouty, spoiled brat that quit on her team. There is only one reason for the difference.

Go back and look at her stats at UNC - they are almost identical to what she is posting at TN in terms of % shooting, 3 pt shooting, and A/TO. She scored more points but with the same lack of efficiency she is showing at TN. And on that UNC team she shot 220 more shots than the second player on the team. There were 6 players on that team that shot at a significantly higher percentage and six players that shot threes at a significantly higher percentage. Her A/TO ratio, % shooting, and % three shooting were worse than the team average. She is and was at UNC a very exciting player to watch, and once in a while she can put together a brilliant game - but she can also do the exact opposite. And the pout was present in those UNC games when things didn't go her way.

South Carolina almost hired her....boy I bet they're happy they did not pull the trigger...I would say they got the better end of the deal....DS built that program and has it running like a well oiled machine now...meanwhile our LV's are steamrolling down a mountain :ermm:

Really...let's see...neither DeShields nor Russell played last season, Cooper is a freshman...all players with a lot of potential, I think we can all agree on that, right.

They had 12 of the 20 turnovers tonight, neither Cooper (did not attempt a FT) nor Russell (0-2) made a foul shot and Diamond shot 2 and made 2 foul shots...3 players going 2/4 combined. As a team we were 8-14 from the line, they were 19 of 25.

Recipe for beating the #3 team at their place?

You blame the coach and you have every right too.

I blame all of them but those things imo are on the players and they can control turning it over, control driving to the basket, a coach can only do so much.

What you see on the court is a direct expression of the coach. If the coach does not teach that the possession of the ball is precious, then the players actions will demonstrate that thinking.I have watched Diamond throw the ball away more than once and smile about it.
Rebounding is a more mindset than skill, again with expectation set by the coach.
Not only do we not take advantage of our size in obtaining position on the "blocks", but on the rare occasion when it happens by accident there is no recognition, anticipation by the ball handler nor have they been coached to look for this pass which should be an automatic two or trip to the foul line.
Weak side defense is only used when the player brought the skill with them from high school.
It is obvious that the players don't know the difference between a pass and a scoring pass, particularly with respects to where the pass is positioned.
You play the way you practice. What we are seeing is identical to how pracices are conducted.
