This is my opinion and only my opinion (obvious!) but some on this Forum need to take a deep breath and think before they post.

QUIT BASHING OUR CURRENT PLAYERS!

Some mercilessly criticize our present personnel as "Dooley's recruits" or say that they "can't wait until" so-and-so graduates and moves on.

But here's what I see… Every player on our team gives their ALL every Saturday they are on the field and throughout the week. There's been no off-the-field drama and no trouble all season.

Yes, we are fielding some players who wouldn't start or play at other SEC schools.

But don't you think they know that?
Don't you understand that some of these players recognize they will be recruited over?

And yet they play their guts out every Saturday. And I respect them for that. They are part of the process and we should cheer them on and get behind them.

Anyone who wears ORANGE and gives their ALL deserves our respect. It's not their fault that they are the best we have - even though it's not enough to compete with the Alabama's right now. Let's show we are a different kind of fan-base that gets behind our team and supports them for their sacrifices and their effort.

Butch is gonna bring us back. We are gonna rise to the Top!

And these present players are part of the process. Let's cheer them on and support them.

The recruits we are bringing to our games will see that we love anyone and everyone who gives their ALL for Tennessee. And before we know it, we will have some of the best players in country and will be winning championships like we used to.

And we can be thankful for those players who didn't let up, who did their best, who gave their ALL, even when that wasn't enough to win championships. Because it re-established a culture of great effort and intensity that are the critical ingredients of being a VFL!

You need to find something better do to at 3am rather than writing a two page research paper on your feelings
I see your up early yourself, only 20 minutes behind the OP. Also I take it that you must be a closet Virginia Tech fan, considering the fact you decided to spout off at the OP for posting his feelings no matter what the time of day. The way I see it the OP is a VFL!

Not sure where to start with the OP. We do back our team but that backing is not blind, death and stupid. I don't doubt that if they improved just slightly we would all be keeping our mouth's shut. Unfortunately that is not the case. How many times can you watch DE's being sucked in, how many times will the safety not close to make a tackle, I think you get the drift. We desperately need new blood, sorry but true.

You are right about needing new blood, we all wish things would have been better. I just want to wish all of the seniors well and hope they are successful in whatever they do in their life after all they have been through. I am sure saturday will be a sad day as they play their last game at Neyland

I have not bashed individual players and I agree with you 100%. They have been dealt a crappy hand, however they can put some salve on the wounds if they come to play. They have to strap it on and produce two wins against teams that they are matched pretty even with. The rest is really up to them and how much they want it.

I find it funny that people expect improvement from a thinning team with a true freshman qb against 3 straight teams in the top 8. I assume people are completely unaware of skill, speed, matchups, when they are bad, when they are good, etc. Must be nice to watch football and not know wtf is happening.

The UGA and SC games made people mistakenly believe that our days of getting boat raced by quality opponents might have come to an end. I agree with your point, but the common fan is never going to care about nuance when the scoreboard is ugly . . . even when the nuance is extremely obvious.

Totally agree with OP. There are some 'ol sports on here whose attitudes and expectations are so completely unrealistic as to make me wanna puke. Fans? yeah I guess you call them fans, but they produce enough draft to suck start a 747.

When I see Arnold, Toney and Brewer on the field behind Greg Clark clogging up the middle and jaques smith holding that edge against a top 10 team, I am one that limits my expectations.

I agree with most of what u are saying OP, but it seems like I hear more people questioning their efforts rather than bashing the players. Some posters say they are not really sure that ALL the players are giving 100% every single play. Im not sure but i will say this though, we will find out this weekend. We are about evenly matched with vandy as we are with any team out there, esp since they lost Azubike. If we lose this game with home field advantage u may want to take a vacation from VN for a while...lol

I will never back this team when dead. I'm kidding.

I do agree with your post, at some point you have to look at the Wins and losses and evaluate where you are at. Currently we have a lot of work to do, but I do feel confident that this staff will get it done in the next couple of years. GBO!!!

effort in losses, especially blowout losses, will always be questioned. Sometimes rightfully so. When I see it, I think about times where I wanted the game to be over as me and my team were getting our asses handed to us. We knew it was coming but tried to fight anyway. Once the bus starts rolling on you though, it flat out sucks. Anyone that's been in that position knows it. And 99.9% of the people that have been in that position know damn well that mentally and physically you aren't at the same level as when the game started or when it was tight earlier. It's called being dejected during an ass whipping and it happens.
